There couldn’t have been a better morning for our Flowers & Birdsong Spring Walk with Steve Mynard on May day.
The two mile walk was taken at what Steve called “the speed of chat” — slowly and with great attention.
Here’s what we found: May blossom on the hawthorn, pathways of silverweed, red campion, bulbous buttercups, white dead nettle, cleavers, dog rose, ground ivy, and the most delicate holly blue butterflies. Honey bees working the horse chestnut candles. A walk full of bluebells — did you know the UK holds 40% of the world’s entire bluebell population?
One of the walk’s most striking moments was when we paused at Great Charfield manor where Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and National Trust have collaborated to widened the field margins and will open up hedgerow and more tree planting next year — the tree guards here are made from cornstarch and biodegrade within three years.
Steve handed us tools we’ll use forever: the Merlin app for birdsong ID, a loupe for peering into flowers, and a reminder that even a dead tree is still very much alive with purpose.

Glove Factory Studios has over 60 businesses working out of these fabulous old industrial spaces, all doing incredible things, mindful of where they began and focussed on where they’re going.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at @glovefactorystudios yesterday for our Easter celebrations beneath beautiful blue spring skies. A hoard of chocolate eggs were eagerly claimed after completing the brilliant @wishingwoodsevents lakeside trail, faces sparkled with glitter, delicious Easter breakfast and lunch specials were enjoyed out on the terrace, and @far_call_records kept the music flowing and the vibes just right all day long. We hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday.
We can’t wait to be back on the decks providing the soundtrack to another stunning series of events across spring / summer @glovefactorystudios . Starting this Easter Monday!
Other than the tunes, there is some easter themed fun planned plus @wildherbatthefieldkitchen with the bank holiday food & drink treats.

Join us at Glove Factory Studios this Bank Holiday Monday for a fun-filled family Easter egg hunt around the fields and lakes @glovefactorystudios 🐣
This year’s trail, created by @wishingwoodsevents , is inspired by a classic family board game. Follow the route, answer clues, and fill your scorecard with colourful wedges as you go. Along the way, you’ll uncover bite-sized facts across Geography, History, Entertainment, Art & Literature, Science & Nature, and Sports & Leisure—all in the quest to learn more about the most magical bunny 🧩
Arrive anytime from 10am (last entry 3:30pm) to collect your hunt card from The Club Room. From there, the team will set you off on one of two trails, designed for shorter or longer legs.
Once you’ve completed your card, head back to the Wishing Woods team to claim your well-earned Easter egg 🍫
There’ll also be face painting and craft activities to keep little (and big) hands busy 🎨
If you need a pit stop, @wildherbatthefieldkitchen will be open from 10am–4pm with delicious breakfast and lunches, indulgent cakes, and refreshing drinks ☕️
And the brilliant @far_call_records will be bringing the vibes with an easy-listening vinyl set 🎶
