I watched the Bus Station film by @glo_botomy last night @harris_museum . The highlights for me were undoubtedly the two ladies travelling to Ma Kelly’s and the fact that the ramps were potentially inspired by Berthold Lubetkin’s Modernist Penguin Pool at London Zoo. So many cool projects happened in 2025, but the one I’m most proud of has to be @beyondcarsfilmfestival . A true grassroots project, the festival was brought to life last November at @shop_preston . We were able to select and screen high-quality film submissions, with many different takes on the festival theme. The festival brought a really nice mix of people together and feeling like a small but meaningful addition to Preston’s cultural life, while opening up conversations about how we move. With next year’s edition already getting underway, it’s exciting to see the festival grow and evolve 💗

This new videopoem, which is just beginning its festival journey, draws on archival footage and experiments in the audification of greyscale pixel data from the source footage.

Playing with plaster during the ‘Stick-on Bricks and the Phenomenology of Flatness’ residency in Berlin. Combining the media of physical modelmaking and film, the project provokes a re-evaluation of architectural design principles and encourages a more profound connection between making, architecture and the human experience of our built environments.

The enshitification of contemporary architecture as a result of the pervasive use of digital and supposedly ‘intelligent’ technologies in design processes was the inspiration for the (ongoing) research project titled ‘Stick-on Bricks and the Phenomenology of Flatness’. Using physical models combined with video-based research in collaboration with @glo_botomy the project is a growing archive that explores the prevalent flatness in contemporary architecture and its impact on society and the environment. We examine this contrived flatness as it converges with the wider cultural shift towards digital technology, influencing architectural design, human perception of space, and bias towards surface over solidity. Using models and filmmaking as research, we seek to question and innovate how we communicate architecture, particularly through audiovisual means. The first phase of the project was undertaken during a residency in Berlin thanks to @fieldstations_ev @filmexplorer.ch

I’m really pleased to share the new poster for my documentary, “If the world ends we’ll be the last to die” illustrated by the brilliant @giuditta.cortinovis . She’s captured the spirit and protagonists of the film beautifully, and I’m excited to have this artwork accompany it as it heads to a few festivals this summer! The documentary was made during my residency at @palazzo_ulmo with the support of @goetheinstitut & @culturemoveseurope .

Imágenes del conversatorio con Gloria Regonesi y algunas de las mujeres que participaron en “Aquí nunca se habla en serio”, proyecto desarrollado en el marco de las Residencias Ey!Mad, con una estancia de 2 meses en Ey!Studio. “Aquí nunca se habla en serio” transforma los salones de peluquería y uñas de Carabanchel en escenarios íntimos donde la vida cotidiana se entrelaza con una rica red emocional y comunitaria. Este cortometraje documental revela cómo estos espacios, tradicionalmente subestimados como lugares de cotilleo, funcionan como centros de escucha, cuidado y resistencia para mujeres de diversas procedencias, desde vecinas de toda la vida hasta migrantes de Ecuador, Venezuela y otros países. A través de una estética cuidada y cercana, la cámara se adentra en conversaciones cargadas de humor, sinceridad y ternura, donde lo que no se dice en casa ni en la calle encuentra un espacio seguro. Peluqueras y manicuristas se convierten en confidentes, consejeras y guardianas de relatos invisibles que sostienen la vida del distrito. El proyecto Residencias Ey!MAD, curado por @garcia_fernandez________ , se desarrolla desde 2021 y pone en valor la memoria y el patrimonio del contexto de Carabanchel a través de prácticas contemporáneas.
