juha. is another of the stable of prodigies come to be associated with glitch.cool. Interweaving ambient, hyperglitch, neo-classical, their music is uniquely positioned upon a border of stillness and destruction. Extremely attentive to sparse, piano-driven melody, they position this contemplative use of instrumentation with off-kilter glitchwise drum patterns inspired by hip-hop and the wider spectrum of bass music. Their debut full-length, 2023’s unreason and empty space, saw juha. entwining hyperglitch’s most exigent venture into apocalyptic sonics, counterposing a stuttering starkness, the imaginary of decay and lostness, with an urgent intimacy. Theirs is a music that has long seemed about hope and retrievable space, where glitch is not a playful rupture as much as an emotional opening in the world. juha. is often thinking about the now and its environment, repositioning hyperglitch as a way of illustrating the alienated availabilities of the everyday. Of seeing a futurity beneath the breakage and beauty of the worlds we all walk. With a vault of new music awaiting release, juha.’s Birmingham debut is a performance by an artist who highlights equally glitch music’s operatic sublimity and its most revisionary closeness. juha.’s performance on May 16 will be accompanied by live visuals from glitch.cool co-founder sunnk. The visuals accompanying this post are a preview of the set to come. Anyone who has seen sunnk play live is well-familiar with the awe and magnitude of his visuals. Cerebral, alien, perfervid, they are the industrial, molecular glyphs of an otherworldy acrolect and its fluctuating bodies. Nigh-on inscrutable, this is their access to the alchemy of glitch. Intoxicating and hypnotic, they allow an audience entrance into the visual language of glitch, wherein an understanding of the magic and importance of this music is all the more emphasised. Thorjn is a Guildford-based producer and composer, whose work straddles ambient, noise, new age and sound collage. 2025’s Through A Crystal Window was a triumphant distillation of much of Thorjn’s early work, mixing palatial ambient with rupturous hyperglitch and wispy new age. The record should deservedly place Thorjn in the ambit of influences like OPN and Tim Hecker. Yet his recent hyper-productivity answers the question: what does one do after releasing a seminal record that appeared to realize the totality of the art you’d been making beforehand? Apparently you release more and more music. Thorjn is currently touring in support of his 2026 album Somewhere, which shifted from the majesty of his prior work to explore low-fidelity sound art, investigating the friable intimacy of the voice alongside memories of youth and place. It’s an essential examination of a parochial, remembered England, both transient and ancient. Its envelopment of field recordings, amorphous vocals and traditional instrumentation render it something beautifully hauntological and subtly new. 2026 has also a seen a series of releases on his own label, scarab moon media, under the name The Emystas Jewel. These are some of Thorjn’s noisiest productions, a music of torrid rhizomes and subsurface pullulation. They see Thorjn proceeding in the direction of a computer-concrète, long-form forays of gutter-classical and slow-mo glitch-oriented abrasion. Thorjn debuts in Birmingham May 16, as part of the Somewhere tour. A quiet artist, he is yet never without uncompromisingly individual surprise.  May 16 | @centrala_space 7PM-12:30AM Tickets available via Ticket Tailor & Skiddle /events/realistalive/2168911

祐曦 Yau Hei is a Bristol-based producer and DJ from Hong Kong, whose music embodies a profound exploration of the mind and spirit. ASJ, short for “A Spiritual Journey,” reflects her ideas to bridge the physical and metaphysical, crafting immersive soundscapes that transform emotions and perceptions. 祐曦 Yau Hei’s music interweaves the subterranean thud and cybernetic sound design of deconstructed club music with kinetic vocals pushing at the limits of autotune. 祐曦 Yau Hei arrives to Birmingham following 2025’s 軀殼 VESSEL EP on Taipei’s Over My Body. 軀殼 VESSEL entwines arboraceous, numinous ambient with pulsating club rhythms, continuing 祐曦 Yau Hei’s ongoing work on a music that traces inward, mystical journeys, hybridizing investigative introspection and euphoria. Blending Eastern and Western influences while combining stuttering, industrial beats, cinematic sonics and a pop sensibility, 祐曦 Yau Hei is able to produce a music intimately addressed to an audience. Simultaneously, hers is a music so both corporeal and preternatural that a listener loses themselves in the absolute magic of its instrumentation. ASJ has performed internationally at venues and festivals including CTM (Berlin), De School (Amsterdam), VOLTA (Brussels), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Cakeshop (Seoul), Totoro Typhoon (Hong Kong), and The Yard (London), alongside appearances on Noods Radio, Balamii Radio, and Steam Radio. May 16 marks her Birmingham debut. May 16 | @centrala_space 7PM-12:30AM Tickets available via Skiddle or Ticket Tailor /events/realistalive/2168911

Silver Waves is the longstanding project of Dylan Mallett. A producer based in Bristol, his practice encompasses aspects of electroacoustic composition, audio engineering and improvisation. Amongst releases on Berlin’s Portals Editions (Maria W Horn, Yair Elazar Glotman), Silver Waves has soundtracked independent video games and contributed to contemporary art pieces (Klein’s ‘Lifetime’ for Serpentine Galleries), as well as composing for multi-channel surround sound performance. Following technical credits on releases from AD93, Drowned By Locals and two Acne Studios collections, European shows with Liturgy, aya and Moor Mother and extensive collaboration with free improv vocalist Dali de Saint Paul, Silver Waves released his debut album ‘Aninstar’ in October 2025 via Mun Sing & NE$$’s label Illegal Data. Aninstar embodies a quest for rebirth via transitory states. Taking root during a four-month stint in Llandudno, it tells tales of a stray dog as it journeys through an underworld, conjures viking funeral sea-scapes from shoreline voice notes and liminal crossroads punctuated by whispered meditations. Forming sonic allegories for the stories in Dylan’s surroundings, its six tracks emanated from coastal field recordings, pneumatic drill foley, chopped and screwed vocal takes and gnarled string instruments - landing somewhere between industrial shoegaze, sound collage and new age music. Off the back of this celestial record, Silver Waves debuts in Birmingham on Saturday 16 May @centrala_space 7PM-12:30AM Tix available via Skiddle & Ticket Tailor /events/realistalive/2168911

Based in Jakarta, Logic Lost cultivates a mode of electronic music that could fairly be called apocalyptic techno. Revolving around themes of corruption, idolatry and bottom-up fury, LL deploys both traditional Indonesian instrumentation and pummelling computational techniques to soundtrack a world in which a hierarchy of impotence reigns rife below an aegis of vulnerable yet lionized imbecility. Arriving in the UK following the essential Disposable Gods, released last year on Bristol stalwarts of the industrial uncategorizable Avon Terror Corps, Logic Lost has hewn over 10 years a sound conjoining the darker regions of metal, techno and bass music. This is the industrial music all Logic Lost’s own. Historicized, acerbic, and built from mammoth growls of noise, virtuosic arpeggiation and unflinchingly hammering drums. Equal parts technical, politicized and mythical, May 16 sees a headline appearance from a quietly ferocious musical talent, the coda to his multi-date UK tour.  May 16 | @centrala_space 7PM-12:30AM Tix via Ticket Tailor /events/realistalive/2168911

SATURDAY MAY 16 @centrala_space Tickets::: link in bio /// /events/realistalive/2168911 Drawing from a diverse palette of genres, including techno, industrial, ambient, and metal, Jakarta-based experimental electronic artist Dylan Amirio, conveys a dark, heavy sound shaped by the cacophonous urban environments of his hometown and beyond under the name Logic Lost /// @logiclost 2025's release Disposable Gods is an exploration of the concept of power and the cyclical nature of oppression. The themes in Logic Lost’s music draw from personal, collective, and observational experiences rooted in a perspective stemming from his Indonesian heritage. His music aims to convey a sonic interpretation of the human condition in environments shaped by failed systems and cruel societal barriers, serving both as a protest against harsh realities and a cathartic release. Following February’s sell-out debut as collaborators, @glitch.cool & Realist Alive pair again for a return leg in Brum, taking over @centrala_space for an evening of destructive computer music & glitched-out imagination. The bill sees recent ATC luminary, Jakarta’s Logic Lost debuting in the city as part of a UK tour, bringing their jagged, apocalyptic sound reconstituting the possibility-spaces of techno and breakbeat. Disposable Gods was one of 2025’s most essential records, abrading dancefloor rhythms for an acerbic screed against the hollow icons of the now. LL is supported from Bristol by 祐曦 Yau Hei and Silver Waves. 祐曦 Yau Hei interweaves trance, deconstructed club & avant-garde composition into a live set equal parts fantastical and cerebral. Silver Waves embodies a long-developed coagulation of industrial found-sound and unreadable percussion, conjuring future-sonics from the musical shards of an oneiric present. Two super-talents with their inimitable idiolects, arriving to Brum off recent shows both international and local. glitch.cool call up Thorjn & juha. to complete the bill. Back last Winter, Thorjn seemed to have reached a culmination with the magisterial Through the Crystal Window, distilling years of work into an album turning influence from new age, IDM and hyperglitch into something entirely his own. TTCW turned out merely to be the starting point, as followed the NOVOPANGEA EP & a further album, Somewhere, incorporating explorations of both computational noise & low-fidelity sound collage. What is juha. but another prodigy from the ranks of gc? On 2023’s unreason and empty space they stretched ambient to its most eschatological regions while retaining it an urgent intimacy. Their unique approach pairs an operatic sublimity with glitchwise reinterpretations of the UK bass continuum & hip-hop. They ramp up now for a second album, The Fires This Time on glitch.cool. May 16 sees their Birmingham debut amidst this deserved momentum. @centrala_space Saturday 16 May 7PM-12:30AM Tickets available via Ticket Tailor & Centrala [link in bio] poster by @alice.jennings @logiclost @yauheiasj @ssilverwavess @thorjn.music @juha.fool

Our good friend @axelhelios has a new full dome show /installation hybrid, next month at @sat_montreal "As We Polish This Rock, It Loses Its Memory by Axel Helios is a real-time interactive work situated between installation and immersive cinema. The piece examines the entanglement of technology, collective memory, and the perpetual reconfiguration of narratives in the contemporary era. Here, the audience is not simply positioned as spectator, but becomes an active agent within the work through the manipulation of analog devices installed at the center of the dome. These interventions generate real-time shifts in the visual and sonic environment, drawing on forms of control historically exerted by humans over nature. The work retains an underlying narrative structure, while the synchronicity between that narrative and the visual field is continuously modulated through public interaction." #immersiveart #audiovisual #generativeart #interactiveart
