I spent my whole life dreaming of the wedding. The marriage is what actually changed me. It was the day I’d been dreaming about since I was three years old. My Super Bowl. And it was magic. Every second of it. But what came after transformed me more than anything before it. I got to unlearn patterns I didn’t know I was still carrying. Walls I didn’t know were still up until Mike walked straight into them and loved me anyway. On the other side of that, I feel safer than I’ve ever felt. And that safety hasn’t make me smaller. It’s made me bolder. But here’s what surprised me most. I manifested this man. But God gave me more than what I asked for. The things I love most about him re the things I didn’t put on the list. The way he advocates for us when I’m not in the room. The way he protects my confidence instead of competing with it. The way our independence only makes us closer. I’ve watched him show up in ways better than anything I could have imagined. Not because he’s perfect. Because he chose me fully, daily, and without conditions. That’s what partnership is. Not finding someone who fits into your life. Building something together that neither of you could create alone. Two years in. More in love. More myself.
