Good hike on the towpath in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation today, and I saw no fewer than four trains go across the impressive Marcy Trestle Bridge.
En route to AHMW, I made a stop at Farnsworth and Bend View Metroparks to knock a few more miles off the Defiance Section of the BT. Good views of the Maumee River.
Hiked a bit of the towpath in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation today, from the Aqueduct trailhead to a little south of 480. I then took the side trail about halfway to Garfield Park Reservation, and found the remains of a former rail bridge along the way.
I may have finished the Little Loop, but there’s still well over 1100 miles of Buckeye Trail to go. Started the new year by going to Zoar today to hike some more of the Towpath between Canal Lands Park and Fort Laurens in Bolivar. Cold, but fun.
Another 5 chilly miles in Mogadore Reservoir today, but at the halfway point, I had completed the trail in the reservoir, the entirety of the BT’s Mogadore section (74.5 miles), and the Buckeye Trail’s "Little Loop” that covers about 280 miles around Northeast Ohio…
Over the weekend, I made good progress on my remaining miles of the BT’s Little Loop- on Saturday I did the last significant road walk along Martin Road (pics 1-5), and today did half of the trail around Mogadore Reservoir west of Route 43. At this point, about 2.2 miles of the LL are left to go…
Today- it was back to Suffield to finish what had been blocked by a road closure a few weeks ago (still closed, but I was able to come at it from the other side). Also got to see the absolutely gigantic Goodyear airship hangar, but sadly no airships were to be seen today…

Hike #200 today did not quite go to plan. The original plan was to do a complete loop around Wingfoot Lake in Suffield. That plan was dashed by a road closure just before the huge blimp hangar on Wingfoot Lake Road.
