Here’s to the kids who are different,
The kids who don’t always get A’s,
The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers’,
And noses that go on for days...
Here’s to the kids who are different,
The kids they call crazy or dumb,
The kids who don’t fit, with the guts and the grit,
Who dance to a different drum...
Here’s to the kids who are different,
The kids with the mischievous streak,
For when they have grown, as history’s shown,
It’s their difference that makes them unique.

Chicken run!
Thank you to everyone who came to support- my beloved friends, it meant the world having you there.
And to the brilliant collaborators I had the absolute privilege to work with, I’m in awe of your creativity, generosity, and talent. We had so little time or means but if there’s one thing I keep learning, it’s this: you don’t need a perfect plan, just the right people, a little courage, and a lot of heart. 💛
Feeling very grateful to be doing this with all the extraordinary people I meet along the way. You know who you are and this show wouldn’t exist without you.
How To Kill a Chicken keeps growing and hopefully, its message echos far enough to move, surprise and even shake people up a little. To think deeper and wider about the complexities of consent- and its irreversible consequences for women.

Special Thanks go to the following individuals and organizations, without whom this play would not have come to life:
Lauren Lambert Moore, our guide, spine, and teacher. Beyond the unwavering work ethic, grace and generosity, her commitment to the emotional truth of this story with astute, nuanced directions have been a gift and an honour to witness.
Ella Rowdon, gave this story a clear trajectory and purpose. Her contributions are some of the most poignant moments of the play.
Midori Jaeger, with her musical genius she has expanded our storytelling efforts, elevating this story to something shy of magic.
Laura Reznek, with me from the beginning of this journey, injecting the play with a musical sensibility that paved the way to what you’ve experience.
The Pleasance Theatre, their generosity providing us with rehearsal space gaving us a home to test, shake, remake and dare.
Stratford East and Sean Brooks, for the Stratford East Lottery and their in-kind rehearsal space.
A.D. who gave me the courage to dream.
To my family and friends who believed in me when I didn’t.
Crowdfunder Donors, your unwavering support and contributions have made all the difference for this production, enabling us in our commitment to shed light on sexual violence.
Underbelly, for giving us the opportunity to share this story.
And finally, to Women’s Aid and The Survivors Trust who fight to end violence against women and children.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to join this incredible team of Italian filmmakers and artists on a panel at @iiclondra to talk all things film industry and beyond. Hosted by the marvellous @gio_cecconi and organised together with the one and only @alessandragonnella_ (writer, director who gave me my first job❤️)
It was a wonderful evening and a chance to meet and connect with so many talented Italian artists. What an honour! Thank you for all those who came and thank you to this amazing team of women for organising such an important evening. Grazie!
Speak loudly, someone will eventually listen.
I wake up at 6 am to the sound of rustling grass outside my window. Is it a dog? No: I remember Tío Juan Cruz had seen a puma the day before, an exceptionally big one. Driven by sudden, idiotic bravery - this will certainly make a good story, I tell myself - I set out for this encounter of the wild kind. Wrapped in my poncho, still dazed, I open the door ready to face the beast: tender beams of red light make their way through the trees as horses graze freely, peacefully, a few feet away.
The pampas awaken.
I never found the puma. In truth, I hope no one ever does. May you roam freely for the rest of your days, you wild cat, and may we all follow your lead. Yours and that of Marcos Villamil, the most wonderful gaucho of the south.
