FLYING HIGH. Tom Ellis is having quite the moment. Interview & Photography { John Russo Produced { Photohouse Productions Grooming { Nicole Elle King Styling { Cannon Video{ Ken Waller Media Location { Waldorf Astoria NYC   JR{ Being on two different shows sounds a bit overwhelming, then let’s add in a family and relocating across the country. Are you secretly Superman? TE{ I inadvertently was training with Superman last year because we actually had the same trainer, so maybe he rubbed off on me (laughs). But last year, 2025, was a lot for our family. Doing “Tell Me Lies” was an opportunity to work alongside Meaghan and, obviously, be where we were shooting as a family. Whilst moving house to come and start “CIA” was stressful, moving to New York is something that we’ve been dreaming of doing for the past few years. So, it’s also like I can’t believe it’s happening, and our dreams are coming true. And that sort of helped energize us for the year. But yes, when I look at it now, I think, gosh, we did a lot last year.   JR{  CIA has taken you to NYC, what have you found to be the most challenging aspect of living in the city?  TE{ It just so happens that my first winter in New York is what many people say is the coldest winter in New York for years and years and years. So that has indeed been challenging. Filming outside in the bitter cold is quite exhausting, especially if you’re having to pretend it’s not as cold as it is. The other thing I love about shooting in New York, which is also a challenge, is that when we are out and about, especially shooting in Manhattan, there’s no closing off of the roads or the streets that we’re shooting on, so we are literally shooting in and amongst the New York public who don’t stop for anything or anybody. That can be quite a challenge. You can be halfway through a take, and someone comes up and asks for a selfie, or you’re dangerously close to being run over by an Uber Eats bike. It’s quite perilous, but quite fun, and it adds a kind of energy to the scenes that we do there as well, which I love. OUT OF THE DARKNESS Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation is providing a light at the end of the tunnel. INTERVIEW & PHOTOGRAPHY BY { JOHN RUSSO PRODUCED BY { KEN WALLER FOR PHOTOHOUSE PRODUCTIONS HAIR BY { CHRIS MCMILLAN MAKEUP BY { GEORGI SANDEV LOCATION { THE BACCARAT HOTEL NYC I cannot say enough incredible things about Mariska. She is truly an Angel among us. It is no wonder she is loved by millions.   JR: What inspired you to create your foundation? MH: When I started on Law & Order: SVU in 1999, I began learning about the statistics of sexual violence. Although those statistics have changed over the years—and any number more than zero is unacceptable to me—they’ve remained devastating. Keeping in mind that these crimes are still woefully underreported, as of today, every 68 seconds someone in this country is sexually assaulted. One in nine girls and one in twenty boys under the age of eighteen experience sexual abuse or assault. I was astonished that more people weren’t talking about those numbers, or more specifically, that people weren’t talking about them all the time. Sexual assault is a crime of power, one person exercising power to take away someone else’s bodily autonomy. I wanted to create a foundation whose purpose was not only to support survivors in healing from that experience, but to engage our society in that support. The first and most urgent task was of course to encourage conversation about these issues, to bring them out of the darkness where they thrive. It was important to create a discussion that could then be harnessed, shaped and directed to bring lasting change. As with artists who look at work they created or initiated years ago, the passage of time brings new insights about the origin of their work. In the same way, I will always be on a journey of discovery about the many threads that came together to begin the process of conceiving the foundation in my mind and heart. F O U R S E A S O N S L I S B O N Photography} John Russo Located in the heart of Lisbon, surrounded by the city’s rolling green hills and overlooking Edwardo VII Park is an oasis of luxury. Four Seasons Lisbon, is an ideal respite from hectic city life. The historic 282-room hotel features a stunning mix of Art Deco and Louis XVI interiors, not to mention an important collection of local contemporary artwork including numerous paintings and sculptures. Meanwhile, endless views surround a formal courtyard with fountains and open space—leading to a tropic oasis pool complex and the Ritz Pool bar—with swaying palm trees leaving guests with an immediate sense of relaxation. Guest suites include the Elite Almada Negreiros Suite, the Pedro Leitao Suite, the Royal Suite, and of course the ultimate, The Presidential Suite fit for any king. Relaxation is at the heart of the resort, with a spa that features an array of incredible treatments including my favorite: The Seven Hills of Lisbon Massage. The spa is designed as a peaceful retreat, featuring plenty of natural light, a color palette inspired by the local colorful tiles, and stunning local artwork. Of course, the food here is incredible as well, with four on-site restaurants—Cura, Varanda, O Japones & the Ritz Pool Bar—all offering locally sourced ingredients. With so many recreational activities, site-seeing opportunities and day trips to local historic towns, Four Seasons Lisbon should be at the top of your destination list. STAYING IN THE PRESENT Jessica Capshaw is on a wild ride in 9-1-1: Nashville INTERVIEW & PHOTOGRAPHY BY { John Russo PRODUCED BY { Photohouse Productions HAIR BY { Xavier Velasquez for A-frame Agency  MAKEUP BY { Archangela Chelsea for Tomlinson Agency  STYLING { Cat Pope for The Wall Group  LOCATION { Los Angeles California JR: So let’s dive right in! What initially attracted you to join the cast of 9-1-1: Nashville? JC: Originally, the hot take was the Ryan Murphy of it all. That, as well as it not being very often that you get to sort of know that something’s been tested and liked. Normally you are starting from scratch and you hope it works. But with it being a franchise and knowing how passionate people were about the original 9-11 and then Lonestar, it was kind of comforting to join something where the water is warm, that people are interested in this and we had the opportunity to create something new, but in a world that we know seems to work. JR: I have to say the whole 9-1-1: Nashville franchise is very cool. It’s like every single episode takes you somewhere in terms of the suspense & drama. I think it’s super fun, I love it, It’s one of the best things on TV. A total escape. JC: I think we are living in a time where that is being very well received. I think like anything, not to be a total movie/theater/stage nerd, that we move through times where different things hit in more successful ways. I think right now, for many reasons, we are living in a time where the hyper real is comforting because like you said, it’s just such an escape. So watching the episodes, they are so hyper real, but they all are grounded in some original and real story but made TV-worthy I guess. (laughs) But it’s like these have happened, but you just can’t believe it. #jessicacapshaw #911nashville

Jannik Sinner…with an impenetrable game and laser focus. He is the one to beat in the year end Nitto ATP finals in Turin. INTERVIEW & PHOTOGRAPHY BY { JOHN RUSSO GROOMING BY { MICHAELA LIMUR STYLING BY { CRISTINA CIMINO BACKDROP BY { GRAVITY BACKDROP LOCATION { PHOTOGRAPHED IN TURIN, ITALY COORDINATION: NICOLA ARZANI JR: Many players have different rituals to prepare for a match, some watch videos, other study the opponent. Do you have a formula? JS: I watch a lot, I analyze a lot, especially the night before playing against an opponent, because the visual aspect is very important, at least for me. JR: How much involvement do you have with your coach prior to a match? JS: We usually prepare everything before the match, we have many options. Then maybe he sometimes tells you things, but I’m on the court and I don’t hear them, because maybe on that day I don’t feel certain shots, so I don’t use them. In the end, the player always has to find the solution. JR: Your game seems impenetrable at the moment, are there any areas for improvement? JS: My serve and my net play. Mist rising off Lake Kawaguchi, cedar‑scented air, and a retreat that turns glamping into quiet luxury @hoshinoya.official 🇯🇵 . Our new feature steps inside #hoshinoyafuji through the perspective of GM Jumpei Kataoka, the quiet architect behind this forest sanctuary’s soul. KW: HOSHINOYA Fuji is often described as Japan’s first luxury glamping resort. What core idea or emotion defines the property for you today? JK: While the roots of glamping trace back to European aristocrats seeking their accustomed elegance even while on expeditions, the modern interpretation has evolved into a style of travel that allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the richness of nature without compromising on comfort. Since its opening in 2015 as Japan’s first luxury glamping resort, HOSHINOYA Fuji
has embraced its role as a pioneer, nurturing and shaping this culture within Japan. At the heart of our philosophy is a simple yet profound experience: cherishing nature and opening oneself to its ever-changing dynamism… Link in Bio. - full feature continues at the link. /9459-2/

GRIT AND DETERMINATION Jack Reynor may very well be the Busiest Man in Hollywood. Interview & Photography { John Russo Produced { Photohouse Productions Grooming { Jenny Nelson for The Wall Group Styling { Linda Medvene Video{ Ken Waller Media Location { Los Angeles, CA   Q: From beautiful Ireland to Hollywood, it sounds like a dream. When did you know this was going to be your destiny? JR: I think I was very young, only five or six when I sort of got the sense that I wanted to be an actor and that it was not so much about the acting as it was the opportunity to visit the kind of places that I was seeing on TV. It looked so exciting in all these different worlds that I would see in the films that I would watch and the shows that I would watch. And I wanted to experience that. So that was where my sense of being an actor kind of came from initially. And then obviously as I got older my understanding of it evolved and I watched just so much film throughout all my time in school and just really had the sense that what I wanted to do was go into film. And that was it.   Q: You have three different projects going on, you are one busy man! Let’s talk about The Mummy. How does it feel to be part of such an iconic franchise? JR: It was great. And for me, I love horror films and horror films have always kind of been a big part of my life. And obviously there’s not that much that’s happening in cinema these days outside of horror films and superhero films, and so even to have a movie to be front and center of something that is really opening in the cinema, that’s just a real blessing. Q: So then after that you have this spy thriller Citadel, Season Two is coming out in May. JR: Yeah it’s great. I think for me, the big things about that were I was going to work with Joe Russo again, who is a very good friend of mine and Stanley Tucci, who I had shot Transformers with ten years before, it was just great to get to close the lid with those guys. A TRUE LABOR OF LOVE Luxury at its highest level. This is Passalacqua. This Legendary Preferred Hotels property far exceeds any expectation. We sat down with Valentina De Santis, the owner and CEO of the iconic Passalacqua hotel on Lake Como. She has transformed the 18th-Century villa into the most luxurious boutique hotel on Lake Como. This elevated experience is reminiscent of the old “villeggiatura” style of holiday. Our readers have overwhelmingly chosen the Passalacqua as our 2025 Hotel of the year. Photographed & Interviewed by John Russo JR: Passalacqua is steeped in history. Can you share a bit about the property’s origins and its significance to your family? VD: If only our well-trodden stones and massive bronze doors could talk! They would certainly have a tale to tell, starting with Count Andrea Lucini-Passalacqua, who enlisted the most famous architects and artisans of the late 18th-century Italy to build his family summer residence in Moltrasio—and made it the envy of all who saw it. My parents and I fell head over heels the moment we first came through the gates at Passalacqua. I had a deep sense that this property belonged in our family, that restoring its unique sense of place was almost a sacred calling. And, of course, we were extremely proud to have this cultural landmark up to guests from near and far, just like the Passalacqua family did all those centuries ago. #passalacqua #italy #lakecomo #preferredhotels #preferredlegend

NO LIMITS Bethany Joy Lenz is proving to be the ultimate Renaissance woman. INTERVIEW & PHOTOGRAPHY BY { John Russo PRODUCED BY { Photohouse Productions HAIR BY { Jaycee Mnirajd MAKEUP BY { Saisha Beecham STYLING { Joann Black LOCATION { Los Angeles California   JR: I am so excited to talk to you — you are like the Renaissance woman to end all Renaissance women. The author, the actress, the singer. What can’t you do? What are you  not doing?  BJL: (laughs) That’s it, really. I just don’t know how to do life any other way. I’ve tried! Even when I was young, I tried to fit into that box — standardized testing, regular school hours — and I just could not stop daydreaming. I’d stare at the cinder block the room was built out of and wonder why they painted all the walls the same color, or imagine what else you could make out of cinder blocks besides schoolhouses. My brain was and is always imagining and creating, which is so fun — but it does have its downfalls. I can be distracted easily if my present moment is lacking stimulation, and it makes math a particular challenge. (laughs) But I’ve learned a lot of patience over the years and gained an appreciation for the magic of ordinary days.  JR: What’s so cool is that your first book, Dinner for Vampires, came out in 2024, became a bestselling memoir — and then you just decide: I’m going to do another book. Tell me about that thought process. How does your mind make that leap?  BJL: Once I’d finished  Dinner for Vampires — something clicked. I would often walk through a bookstore and think, I’m going to write a book one day, but it’s such a huge task and I didn’t know where to start, despite having always been a writer of things- I wrote songs and journaled furiously when I was young. I started a book when I was twelve, got about ten chapters in, then abandoned it and moved on to something else — very true to my neurodivergence.
