My new album "Curious Flora and Fauna of the Ancient World" is out now. This time I am very excited to announce that it is released not only on tape on my label Tharn, but also on vinyl by the almighty @cryptofthewizard . I'm always saying this, by this is by far my favourite record I've made. I could not done it without help of some great people I'm very grateful having around me. Heavily inspired by Swedish organ master and composer Bo Hansson, you’re in for an instrumental explosion caused by Lord Of The Rings and Hansson school alchemy, featuring the following ingredients: electric organ & guitar, drums, flutes, bongos, hurdy gurdy, and advanced knowledge of the musical arcana. @aquarianrenegade - You do not often meet a celtic harp player, nor one who built his instrument all by himself. And you can feel this deep, almost mystical or alchemical connection, when you witness and immerse in his pastoral folklore music. @kmetropolis - Dungeon Synth inspired by Croatian folklore. Imagine scenes from a medieval peasant uprising set to dark synth music from ex-Yugoslavia. First show on German soil, and a magic item you do not wanna miss out on! SYNTHS & SORCERY II takes place in a small profamed ex-catholic chapel in the heart of Kreuzberg. The capacity is limited due to the size of the chapel, and thus tickets are expensive. On the other hand I chose precisely this chapel, because I am convinced that the very special acoustic and atmosphere of the place combined with the music will make the evening unique! Link in bio: The new tape "The Curious Flora & Fauna of the Ancient World" out in month or so, meanwhile here's a single track "The Winged Snake of Arabia". The tape is coming with a small book (of course), here's a chapter on this particular bit: ---Herodotus traveled to the Arabian city of Buto to inspect the winged snakes he was told about. He describes seeing vast amounts of snake skeletons of different sizes. „Their wings are not feathered but most like the wings of a bat“. According to legend told by both Arabs and Egyptians, the winged snakes used to fly to Egypt in spring and a flock of ibises confronted them and killed them, which led to ibis being greatly honored for this service by Egyptians. He also describes quite an extreme way of their reproduction: The female chokes the male in the moment of ejaculation and kills him, but this act is not left unpunished, he says, because their hatchlings bite their way out of their mother’s womb. Also, as a proof of how dangerous the gathering of incense is for the Arabs, Herodotus says that „spice-bearing trees are guarded by small winged snakes of varied color“. There’s been some attempts to rationalize the winged snakes. The fossils could be fossils of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus or some winged insects. Does it matter at all?
