There was a time in my 20s when it was a lonely endeavor creating comics among other artists. While I didn't give up the craft, it was difficult creating comics without an audience. I am thankful for my friends for cheering me on- without them, I would still be in the pit of loneliness, creating comics.

I am thrilled to announce that I'm launching my first ever Crowdfundr campaign for my short comic, "El Panadero Y Le Chice", a queer romance short comic.
Julián Muñoz and his mother do not see each other eye to eye; Julián cuts his hair, and his mamá freaks out; Julián doesn't dress "cute", and his mamá takes offense. It's bad enough that he has to put up with her comments at their family-run panadería, but when Julián develops a crush on the new customer, Valentín, he finds a distraction from his mother's criticism.

So for most of the month of June, I was in the hospital for gallstones and pancreatitis, and although I am now at home recovering, I realized that I wouldn't have a lot of strength to produce as much art as I would have wanted. I really wanted to draw pride illustrations of my ocs this year, but my body wasn't having it.
But I realized that I never posted a personal self-portrait back in March for trans visibility day. I don't really share my personal struggles of being trans in a society where my gender is constantly being scrutinized or talk about the amount of transphobia I face, but there are several moments where I have felt a sense of shame for being trans and for not fitting a mold. In order to combat that, I drew a self-portrait of myself embracing my genderfluidity, and after finishing it, I had a moment of "I see me".
I love being trans, and I love how my gender fluctuates. I love that I can be all genders and then none. I love that I can see myself as high femme and then be a gorgeous man. I love that I am a Chicane whose brown body can become anything, as long as it feels like home.
