Gender Bender.06 is returning to @pmk_ibk for a night of queer joy under the motto: Extravaganza – a dazzling celebration of excess, where the extraordinary steals the spotlight, the constraints of the everyday fade away, and every moment is a spectacle to behold. Queer and non-conformist by nature, our Portuguese-born and Berlin-based guest @deepneue glorifies a transgressive, high-energy vision of techno. Blending identity, utopian rebellion, and art, Deepneue merges haute couture, erotica, and music. A resident DJ for Pornceptual and co-founder of TrashEra, Deepneue’s sound fuses fast-paced techno with deep sonic artistry. Immerse yourself in a night of glamour, boldness, and uninhibited self-expression! Born and raised in Queens but beloved on both sides of the pond, @kilopatrahjones is a club kid with an innate gift for transferring their energetic sass from the booth to the dance floor. Their electrifying mix of house, techno, and jungle pay homage to Sound Factory’s glory days while blasting us with energy-laden BPMs into the future. Whether it’s their monthly Lot Radio residency or epic sets with legends like Todd Terry and Underground Resistance, Kilopatrah knows how to make you lose yourself in the rhythm. The freezing weather couldn’t stop us from turning up the heat! Gender Bender.House of Thaw was our first underground event at an undisclosed location off the beaten path – and we’re still feeling the burn. Our in-house crew lit a fire under our feet, cranking out sizzling house and scorching techno all night long. We balled out. We thawed out. We melted right into the music! A big thank you to everybody who came out and helped make this night possible!

At Gender Bender.05, we were blessed by a lineup of boundary pushing artists, including our very first LIVE set. The night was filled with a mix of techno, trippy grooves, and experimental sounds that fueled the fire of our sonic revelry. @jesse_g , part of the Tresor DJ team, dished out her signature metallic sounds and trippy rhythms proving her mastery on the decks. @oatmannnnn treated us to a live performance sending us off on an immersive journey of percussive rhythms and soulful melodies. @studionatura_ cast us under his spell with a blend of bass, trance, and organic soundscapes. @derive_____ took us on a wild ride with UK Bass-driven sets, unpredictable mood shifts, and intricate rhythms. The vibes were high, the energy was unmatched, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Thanks to everyone who joined us and an extra special thanks to Stadt Innsbruck for supporting our mission!

After an unforgettable summer in the sun, we returned with Gender Bender.04 to our beloved pmk for a night of sweaty, electrifying energy. We were graced by the unstoppable @ruizosc1 , whose high-speed, folkloric techno took us on a sonic journey like no other. Her signature sound, blending Colombian rhythms with pulsating beats, had the dance floor moving in pure bliss. Alongside her in the line-up, @adlas_one blessed us with his deep and groovy selections. Somewhat of a traditionalist at heart, his sound transported us back to pioneering days of techno in Detroit and Chicago. A massive thank you to our community for bringing the energy and making this night one for the books. The creatures of the night came out to play, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Gender Bender.Afternoon Delight was the kickoff to wet ‘n wild summer like no other! For our first-ever daytime event, we took over the stunning halls of @snktbrtlm for a 14 hour marathon to celebrate everything that makes us weird, queer, and unique. Kicking off the day with a bang, @vanessa_community had us in stitches with her sharp wit, captivating presence, and expertly hosted round of Drag Bingo. Shout out to everyone who came out early and participated. The decks were blessed by the incredible @bashkka and @bitterbabe_ , along with Gender Bender regulars @jojoovice and @lindenbergsupport , who kept us dancing from day to dusk. We were absolutely blown away by how many people came together and the incredible energy that filled the space. The crowd was vibrant, bold, and unapologetically queer—serving looks that were as sexy as they were fearless. Lots of love to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and to our beautiful community for showing up and showing out.

For Gender Bender.03 we returned to our stomping grounds at @pmk_ibk to get down and dirty with an unforgettable night of sonic bliss. We were joined by the captivating @philippapacho , whose journey from Stockholm to Berlin has made her a standout name in the global techno scene. With years of experience under her belt, Philippa has become known for her razor-sharp focus and ability to stir emotions on the dance floor, which we had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand. Also in the lineup were the Leipzig-based DJs @l1s4_s and @momo.mnc , founders of the MANIAC party series. With their infectious blend of driving beats and groovy rhythms, they set the floor on fire, creating a unique atmosphere that kept us moving all night. It was a night to remember! Thanks to everybody who helped put on this event and to our community that came out to support us!

With GENDER BENDER.Exhibition(ism), we ventured out from p.m.k. to host our first side event in the cubical @rfdinsel , an off-space dedicated to contemporary art forms. Our theme for the night took inspiration from the queer aesthetics of camp—a playful and theatrical subversion of mainstream sensibilities. 

@jojoovice kicked off the night and got us in the mood with her acidy and raw collection of House and Breaks. Our second guest @_emmahelena followed up opening the gates to heaven bringing her energy and eclectic mix of global sound. At the peak of the night we were graced by the presence of Germany’s premiere childless milf and Drag Race Germany finalist, @yvonnenightstand , who teamed up with the legendary @ferrari.rot and her hypnotic grooves and hard-hitting beats to turn the dance floor into a race track. 

Support was provided by our in-house talent. Big shout and thanks to all the performers, staff, and attendees who came out and supported us!

Our second event at @pmk_ibk , further fanned the flames of our passion for curating nights of electric bliss. @lindenbergsupport kicked off the night with a superb opening full of stompy house and percussive techno. As the night wore on, @melindamohajer took to the stage to showcase her high energy fusion of old school groove and hard hitting techno. Before we could catch our breath, @rachelnoondj nearly brought the roof down with her breakneck percussion beats and closing anthems! A big shout out and thanks to everybody who came out and supported us!

Talk about a blast from the past! Gender Bender first opened its doors almost three years ago on 11.06.22 at p.m.k. with the motto “a queer mob against everyday tristesse and heteronormativity”. Since then, the mob has only grown, and we’re so thankful for the community coming together to make our events such a raging success! We took inspiration for our name, Gender Bender, from a term popularized during the height of the queer liberation movement in the 1970s that describes a person who embraces gender nonconformity. We’re proud to have been able to expand upon this meaning to include “a techno community in Innsbruck with a whole lot of heart that celebrates queer and FLINTA* communities”. We owe a very special thanks to @rakans who headlined our debut event. Additionally, we’d like to thank @pmk_ibk , everybody that helped to support the Gender Bender team, and all our friends and guests that continue to inspire us to keep doing what we love doing!
