Happy Anniversary to this beautiful piece I had the honor of filming with an equally beautiful team. To be around people who carry the same integrity and drive for Art & Culture is not only a treat. Tis a joy & blessing to experience a love like this in a world like ours. 🎉⚡️💙💜

📰‼️ Yesterday’s News ‼️📰
Yesterday’s headlines are still today’s realities.
While creating this piece and hearing who I believe is, OVEOUS speak on Tumbao, I kept seeing not just this essence but a mantra that speaks on the break down of outdated ways of thinking. When election results came in and I saw the demographics, I kept asking, why did many Latinos vote for our current POTUS? Especially the men? After many conversations I now understand there was a hope to protect themselves and their loved ones. Underneath all of this is a history of dictatorships in many Latin-American/Caribbean countries that have shaped the way our community votes. A lot of the trauma that our elders navigated was never fully addressed—- we all simply kept going.
Hector Lavoe’s Periódico De Ayer was talking about a love that no longer served him. Yet it reminded me of the habits we hold onto with our own families— to keep the peace. The difficult conversations about mental health, politics, and colorism— that is the work we have to do. Because holding onto harmful ways of being no longer serves us as a whole.
My belief is if more BIPOC folks knew each others histories we would not continue certain cycles, especially with elections. We as Latinos can step up by getting involved in this upcoming off-year election. It’s in just a few days on Nov, 4th.

Another closing credit scene with a classic sunset to some Coldplay giving us the nostalgia of a story that made its way thru the test of time. Also trying out this lil trend on the grid.

Growing up watching movies I always enjoyed the closing title sequences. The 90s credit scenes were always a visual fulfillment for me after the movie. So for no reason at all. I felt like making my own. 🤓 Just to see what this coming of age closing sequence would look like.

Something existentially simple in a creative home. Where a brew happens & a new idea takes shape. Slow burning into a new phase. Thank you @justfeng for letting me invade your life for a day. 😏
When God brings you new beginnings and an opportunity. You start again, as many times as necessary. Really learning patience all over again. So, here we go again. ✊🏽✨
