It’s always an honor and privilege to sub on lead 🎺 at @chicagomusical on Broadway in NYC. Even more so today, the day after John Frosk’s passing. John was a famed and revered trumpet player in NYC that set the standard for all of us to follow. Playing in countless bands, shows, and sessions with an impressive career spanning the 50’s - 2000’s. He was a force to be reckoned with. My former teacher @hawktrumpet always imparted on us how tremendous his sound was and suggested we emulate it as often as possible. It was his calling card. Paying homage to him (and following the guidance of Glenn Drewes and Earl Gardner) this evening, we tried to bring the tone and razzle dazzle to the cell block tango on 49th Street. #trumpet #jazz #nyctrumpet #broadwaymusicians #chicagobroadway
