For this week’s DETECT, we welcome Manchester’s very own @gfa_028 . The Belfast born artist has quickly implemented themselves as a stalwart of the North West’s thriving techno landscape, slotting comfortably into many a line-up in the city, whilst also being a constant, reassuring presence on the other side of the decks. Playing alongside a multitude of internationally-recognised artists, he has more than held his own in those situations, and very much earmarked himself as one to watch. An artist residency with the Northern capital’s infamous @tiriba.underground collective & event series and a stand out international debut in Tbilisi has further reinforced his exciting future. Known for his animated and versatile sets, GFA uses an array of sub-genres to explore different emotions, held together with the foundation of techno - expect the unexpected. For this DETECT, GFA has emphasised a peak time level of intensity, whilst also drawing upon all the different tastes and influences that form his current musical identity. Tbilisi… Without a doubt the best city, the best people, the best scene I’ve came across. Their passion as a nation shines through on their dance floors creating one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had to date inside as well as outside of the booth. At the centre of the night is a first-time b2b between Aero and GFA, bringing together two of the country’s most exciting selectors for what promises to be a special meeting on the Mosaic dance-floor.
