Will talk a little more about this collaboration in the future through some longer format media. I am super happy because in true sense of the word,( collaboration ) the result is clear. I am happy! A visit to @ifmparis organized by @vestiaireco and @theorispresent for us to engage the institutions that helps develop some of the worlds leading fashion designers. The visit was both insightful and painful. (Will talk more on that in the future)
I will like to introduce you all to @_m._e_d._
He is an artist and 1st year student in a master’s program at the IFM Paris. He was finishing his end of year presentation of which we got the chance to speak to him about. Just so you know, he is coming with a wave of conscious design approach to the complex subjects of forms, identity, gender positions, social constructs etc.
It was a needed exchange.
To close out January, we hosted our first listening party for The Second Chance Album. @secondchancealbum is an initiative produced by The Or Foundation in collaboration with over a dozen Ghanaian artists, using music as a vehicle for education and celebration.
The listening party which took place at The Other Showroom brought together some of the artists on the album, media and the general public to outdoor and discuss themes of shared responsibility, cultural transmission, etymology and circularity. An explanation followed each track with @getupstandout (Mawuli) moderating.
Featured artists @pureakan , @gasmillawins , wanlov and Suzy were all in attendance to speak on their contribution and to answer questions about the creative process.
The album is out on all streaming platforms and custom recycled vinyls are available in store at @othershowroom

John Quist was in no way a perfect man. Far from that actually. He was a very flawed man. His death creeps up on me every now and then as ghost remnants. Sometimes hate that we didn’t get to argue out all our differences, that he didn’t stick around to see me bring two beautiful children into the world that he would have spoiled rotten in his own “take a walk with me way…”
I raise this post to him and all those who have been taken away. Thank you @accraphoto for capturing the light in this man. We will live each day completely.
I am in Paris with my colleagues to represent the amazing designers and creatives who have come out of Kantamanto and continued where I stopped. They are showcasing their works of art with materials sourced from Kanta.
It’s been hard for them to get Visas to represent their own work due to no fault of theirs. But nonetheless, we at the @theorispresent and @othershowroom have seen the work they put in. Come to @sheriff.gallery today for the opening of VOLUMES. A pop-up exhibition that centers the work of solution drivers on display.
Introducing @othershowroom , a Living Archive of resistance and a place to shop differently.
Other Showroom is located on the ground floor of our main office @ the Kingsway Traffic Light in central Accra.
