PSYCH3D3LIC SALON 🎟️ Psych3d3lics & Grief
#Grief doesn’t always show up as sadness. Sometimes it shows up as anger, retreat, more wine and weed, or a vague sense that something is off.
In the @substack post that resonated most this year, @aprilpride_ wrote about why psych3d3lics so often surface grief we thought we had already worked through.
The short answer: “processed” is often a lie we tell ourselves to survive. What we call closure is usually containment — functioning without falling apart because we’ve learned to carry it well.
Integration is something else. The loss remains, but our relationship to it shifts.
That’s the territory we’ll sit in on Thursday, May 7th at @townhall_seattle for the final SetSet Psych3d3lic Salon of the season.
Joined by Dr. @sunil1007 of @aimsinstituteseattle and @laurasullivancassidy of @recomposelife we’ll explore how ketamine, psilocybin, MDMA, and 5-MeO-DMT are being used to support emotional processing and meaning-making in the context of loss by softening sorrow, reconnecting to love, and reorienting to the life still ahead.
Please join us.

NEW EPISODE 🎙️Ibogaine is often described as a breakthrough for addiction, trauma, and PTSD—but it’s also one of the most medically complex psych3d3lic therapies in use today. In this episode, host @aprilpride_ sits down with Cancun ibogaine clinic @beond.us co-founders Tom Feegel and Talia Eisenberg to explore what ethical, medically supported ibogaine care actually requires.
Talia shares her personal recovery story and Tom explains Beond’s safety-first model.
🔵 Key Takeaways
Iboga and ibogaine are not the same—and that distinction matters for safety, dosing, and ethics.
Ibogaine carries real cardiac risk and should never be used without medical screening and monitoring.
Post-acute withdrawal can last weeks or months and is a major relapse risk without support.
Whole-plant medicines vary in potency; predictability is a safety issue, not a comfort preference.
Integration starts before the medicine and continues long after—it’s a way of living, not a checklist.

🎙️NEW EPISODE 🐸 I’ve been sitting with what I’ve heard about the 5-Me🅾️-DM✝️ experience for a long time, but I’ve yet to go there.
Often called the God molecule, “5” isn’t about what’s seen or heard, but what is felt. 5-Me🅾️-DM✝️ doesn’t add to our narrative through spectacle, but instead offers a new perspective on our stories by turning down the volume so low that our felt sense is all we have to remember. to remember how it felt. not the words. not the story.
This episode came out of what was supposed to be a casual conversation with Roger and Dustin of Sky Mountain Retreats. We found ourselves unpacking what 5-Me🅾️-DM✝️ actually is (Bufo, toad), how it differs from DM✝️, 🍄, ket, and MDM🌲, and why so many people—especially women—describe it as a remembering rather than tripping.
This midday convo offered me so much clarity that I just had to share it with you. FIND WHEREVER YOU LISTEN TO PODCASTS - and on @aprilpride_ Substack 🔺LINK IN BIO🔺

10 Q&As on Psych3d3lics & Creativity 🔵 This October, I binged Season 2 of @thetelepathytapes and Episode 3—“The Consciousness of Creativity”—is an all-star cast of creatives talking about consciousness— @elizabeth_gilbert_writer@rickrubin and @themarthabeck who talks about how anxiety and creativity live in mirrored structures on opposite sides of the brain. The left hemisphere spins anxious stories—what’s going to go wrong, what we’ll lose, how we’ve messed up. The right hemisphere gathers everything we know and rearranges it into something new—art, solutions, insight. When the creative networks light up, the anxious networks dim.
In her words: anxiety shuts down creativity, but creativity can also shut down anxiety. That is the quiet invitation beneath every microdosing experience for creative professionals who are also carrying a lot of anxiety: create in a way that only you can.

I talk to a lot of people, read the news, watch reality unfold, and keep coming back to this: the epidemic of our time is fear. Fear is the greatest threat to human potential. Our human intelligence—reason, perception, EQ, creativity, social intelligence—is our superpower, but we’ve lost connection to the most fundamental elements of our being. With increasing access to and dependency on technology as well as the wealth it’s generated, we’ve suppressed our intuition to pursue mastery of machines and markets.
Living by twentieth-century rules will be the death of humans in the twenty-first century. One thing remains true, though: the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
And yet—fear is precisely what made us human in the first place.

In the spring of 2023, this was the setting I created for my 🍄 journey that inspired Psych3d3lic Salon. This Thursday @townhall_seattle is our Salon #17 - my lucky number! With Seattle legal experts, we’re diving into plants that contain psych3d3lic compounds yet are totally legal plus what decriminalizetion means for access and community consumption—which @getsetset will begin in the New Year with our Cards (you can see early prototypes of the Cards in the video at my bedside). 🎟️ Tickets at LINK IN BIO 👆
