This week I’m sitting down with the incredible @_michelleduval_ , a pioneer in human potential, coaching, and now AI-powered transformation with @getmarlee Michelle has spent nearly three decades coaching leaders, founders, and humans from all walks of life, and is now on a mission to democratise access to that kind of support through technology. Michelle and I first met around ten years ago in Sydney during one of the most intense startup programs I’ve ever been part of. Picture twelve wildly different entrepreneurs trying to build a million-dollar business in ten weeks. It was chaos. And Michelle walked into the room and somehow held it all together with this calm, grounded brilliance that I’ve never forgotten. Since then, her work has evolved from coaching into building an AI technology designed to help people all over the world realise their potential, not just the few who can afford a coach. This conversation is expansive, honest, and deeply thought-provoking. I think this one is going to stay with you. Inside, we explore: - Michelle’s journey from early coaching days to building an AI technology used across the globe - Why human potential has been inaccessible for most people and how that’s changing - The honest reality of building in the AI space and what it really takes - Why “work is broken” and what’s driving burnout, anxiety, and disconnection - How AI is reshaping work, identity, and what it means to be human - The biggest mindset shift we need to make right now around identity and job titles - What the data reveals about Gen Z and why workplaces need to evolve @myworkverse - Michelle’s powerful take on purpose and why it’s often much simpler than we think This episode is full of those moments that make you pause and reflect. Michelle has this incredible way of holding both the challenges of today and the possibilities of what’s ahead. If you’ve ever questioned your purpose, your place in work, or how to navigate what’s coming next, this one is for you🚀 Ps 10% off the Workverse book with GotYourBack10 - link 🔗 via bio

Most people are asking “Will AI replace my job?” A better question is what new roles is it creating? As mentioned in Find Your Workverse, technology changes… and so do jobs. We like to focus on what’s emerging, not just what’s disappearing. That’s why we’ve been building a Future Roles Board templates in Marlee to explore the kinds of roles AI is starting to create. Marlee also helps you understand yourself better, what you’re naturally good at, what motivates you, and where you’re most likely to thrive… so you can actually find your place in all of this. Which future role feels most like you? 👀

This quote from Marlee appears in Find Your Workverse. This is why: At this point in the book, we explore the pressure many people feel to have their future fully figured out. But most meaningful careers are not built from prediction. They are shaped through clarity and small, intentional steps. When you give yourself space to imagine the kind of work you’d actually want to lead, what energizes you, how you think, how you want to contribute, you begin to create direction. And from there, action becomes much more grounded. You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a starting point that feels aligned. From there, you can begin building. We at Marlee have spent decades researching how people work. What drives them. Where they get stuck. And what actually helps them move forward. As work kept changing, one thing became clear: people and teams were navigating a world they weren’t prepared for. That’s why Marlee coined ‘Workverse’ to describe how career paths have changed and why we co-authored Find Your Workverse. Not to tell people what to do. But to help them make better decisions in a path that no longer looks linear. Designed for: → Gen Z’s navigating what’s next → Managers supporting people through change → Workplaces rethinking how work actually works Because when work changes, the way we support people needs to change too. You can find out more about Find Your Workverse here @myworkverse #innovation #genz #genzatwork #coachmarlee #coaching

No one told us the ladder would disappear. That’s why we explore what comes next: Less focus on titles. More focus on skills. Design your own path. Because in the Workverse, impact matters more than position. #careerladder #genz #workplace #futureofwork #coaching

Most career advice is designed to apply to everyone. The challenge is that no two people approach work in exactly the same way. Marlee takes a different approach. Through a research-backed analysis with over 90% reliability, Marlee explores 48 distinct attitudes and motivations that shape how you think, make decisions, collaborate, and lead at work. This goes far beyond a single label or category. The aim is to help you understand where your natural strengths are most likely to shine, and where certain patterns or blind spots could be limiting your progress. When these underlying drivers become clearer, the conversation becomes far more practical. You can explore how you naturally lead, how you approach decisions, and which types of roles and environments align with the way you operate best. Many people describe the experience as having a personal data scientist focused on their development. Instead of guessing what might work for you, you can explore questions with Marlee about your working style, your motivations, and how these translate into future opportunities where you are most likely to thrive.

Why managing Gen Z feels harder than it should? What are the challenges Gen Z face today? We are entering a leadership deficit because workplace expectations haven’t evolved. Gen Z isn’t lazy; they are seeking a healthier way to work. They thrive on input and feedback, but isolation in hybrid roles is stalling their confidence. To bridge this gap, leaders must provide the mentorship and “mirror” Gen Z needs to trust their own voices and step into leadership roles.

Today I placed Workverse in my local street library. 📚 Not everyone discovers books through algorithms. Some discover them while walking home. A family member gives one. A neighbour shares one over the fence. I believe that many of the most important things in life start locally. In communities. On quiet streets. In places where someone stumbles upon exactly what they needed. Workverse shouldn’t only belong to people who are in a position to purchase it. Or who are already “in the right rooms” to discover it. It belongs wherever a Gen Z mind is questioning work, identity, AI, purpose — and wondering if they’re the problem (they’re not btw!). Today we launch the gifting of 100 copies of Workverse to street libraries around the world. 📚 If you’d love to support your local Gen Zs, we’d love you to pitch us your street library. Tell us: 📍The name of your community street library 📣 Why your library should receive a copy 💛 What your hope is for Gen Z Comment below, apply through the link in bio, or post your own video and tag us. Together let’s place this little book where it can be found and just when it is needed most. 🌺💛📚 #streetlibraries #communitylibrary #streetlibrary #booktok

People aren’t choosing just any job anymore. They want to see themselves reflected in the work. They want to know their contribution matters. And they want to make real impact, not just fill a role. The organizations that understand this will attract the future. The ones that don’t will keep wondering why people won’t stay.
