Shocker! Meta deleted @buttmagazine last week, and with it our access to a solid circle of almost 150k queers and their friends. Alongside our biannual pink print issues, BUTT turns out top notch editorial content, artwork and events on Instagram by and for our community. But according to META, this violated their increasingly vague “account integrity” guidelines. VERY ANNOYING. Since 2001, BUTT has shamelessly stood against censorship, and the decisions made by tech superpowers today are directly violating press freedom. From the unapologetic honesty of @BUTTmagazine to the refined lens of @ManFantastic and @The_Gentlewoman , his projects explore identity with wit and restraint. His strength lies in treating print as a living conversation rather than a product. Jonkers believes in silence as much as storytelling, and in sincerity over gloss. I contributed a bit to this great show of Michelangelo’s drawings (and one marble) of men at Teylers Museum in Haarlem. You’ll catch me in the introductory film that’s playing at the museum (I was filmed @clubchurch in Amsterdam) and I say a few things on the audiotour. Most of all, the show is a must see. Until 25 January. On Thursday, 8 January, I was going to be on stage in the cafe @teylersmuseum along with some other guests for a fun talk show (we did something similar two months ago, hence the photos by @franckdoho ) but just so you know, this event is cancelled at the very last minute due to winter weather conditions!! The Michelangelo show is still on, so do go before the 25th. You’ll be pleased. 📽️🤟🏻

FLASHBACK to dinner w/ @glennmartens at my favourite @asantalucia_ in Milan where we both ordered the asparagus & fried egg for starters (slide 2) and spoke at length, all the fun stuff that informed this season’s @manfantastic cover story (pic 3). With a bonus photo (4) of Glenn and his dad backstage at Glenn’s first @maisonmargiela Artisanal show in Paris in July. We discussed so much; from Y/Project to him almost getting the top job at Versace, from parents to lovers past and present, from commuting on the Paris metro to buying a castle in the country side, and lots of denim talk. I’ve been called a fantastic man by the magazine Fantastic Man on a couple of occasions. Back in 2017, the publisher’s sent out questionnaires to a handful of Fantastic Men all over the world. As a present, we each received custom made tshirts with our published answers. I was just cleaning my drawers when I stumbled upon it. The funniest part was my answer to my favorite cologne. They clearly left it out.
