BUMMOCK,
a submerged mass of ice projecting downwards.
Based on one of the key decisions in contemporary image making: Bummock attempts to point out what you show and what is being hidden.
Playing with the act of defining the edges of a digital image, can affect the way it is perceived by the viewer, provoking their imagination to run free in first sight, revealing its submerged true context at a second -first hidden- wider glance.
Nature Morte
As a photographer working mainly in the field of still life (in french Nature Morte), I was always fascinated by Taxidermy, a controversial trope today.
During the Victorian era, mounted animals became the most popular part of interior design and decor. Nowadays, we hardly think about it as part of our decoration, but these animals are still out there, like fossils that tell us about recent history and the atrocities that humans have carried out with nature.
That's why, at the beginning of the year we asked permission to ''Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales'' and the oldest taxidermy family in Spain “Taxidermia Benedito” which allows us to bring back to life those animals and give them back the prominence as victims they deserve in our recent history.
