He replaces conventional landscapes with vibrant depictions of contemporary life, bridging cultural heritage and modernity. In this triptych on Mahjong Shuffling, he explores social spaces of connection, risk, and exchange. The mahjong table serves as more than just a game; it embodies friendship, emotion, and migration, reflecting daily life in Hong Kong filled with humour and gossip. Redirecting the tradition of relief carving, Mak focuses on intimate moments of touch and laughter shared among friends. He highlights the hand as a symbol, incorporating the objects we hold and their tactility. 麥凱謙出生香港, 現從事陶瓷創作游走於倫敦和景德鎭兩地，運用中國傳統的裝飾藝術 - 瓷板，將傳統山水畫的意境替換成現代生活的場景。在這「麻將」新系列麥凱謙探索了現代人在連繫、冒險與交流的社交空間。麻將桌不僅僅是一個遊戲，它體現了友誼、情感和融和，反映了香港日常生活中的幽默與瑣事，麥凱謙重新詮釋了陶瓷雕刻的傳統，來表達朋友間共享的觸碰、和充滿笑聲等親密時刻。他常以「手」作為標誌，比喻人可掌握的事物及觸覺。
