Released in 1977 on Kudu Records, Turn This Mutha Out finds Idris Muhammad leaning fully into groove, bridging jazz, funk, and soul with a clarity that feels effortless but deeply intentional. Where spiritual jazz reached outward, this record pulls you into the body; into rhythm, into repetition, into feel.
Built around tight, cyclical patterns, the music doesn’t rush toward complexity. It locks in. Basslines pulse, guitars shimmer, keys float, and Idris sits at the center of it all: precise, relaxed, and completely in control of the pocket. Nothing overstated, nothing forced.
Now playing: “Could Heaven Ever Be Like This”
prncpls you are what you listen to vol 35: George Shipton
Co-Founder and Head of Strategy at PRNCPLS, George Shipton has established his career working across music, culture, and brand strategy. He builds campaigns and narrative systems for artists and brands, helping hone a unique voice for whoever he collaborates with.
Based out of London, the city’s influence is clear in this selection of tracks but extends well beyond it too. A genre-agnostic collection of music built on obsession.
In his words:
“A slightly chaotic mishmash of music that sums up what I listen to. When I fall in love with a song or album I play it to death until I find the next one that grabs me. Every track here has had that effect on me at some point and listening to each one takes me back to the moment I first caught its bug.”

10 by SAULT.
Released in 2025, 10 marks a definitive return to the collective’s core: organic, mid-tempo soul and raw, spiritual grit. After years of expansive experimentation, this record feels like a homecoming, stripping away the orchestral layers in favor of the “living room” intimacy and locked-in grooves that first defined their sound.
Now playing: “S.I.T.L.”

Released in 2025, Lotus continues Little Simz’s focus on clear writing and controlled production, drawing from hip-hop, soul, and spoken-word influences. The album feels measured and intentional, leaning more on mood and message than big moments.
Now playing: “Free.”
The track is stripped back, letting Simz’s voice and lyrics lead. Toward the end, the beat switches up, adding momentum without changing the song’s tone. The change feels natural, reinforcing the idea of movement rather than signaling a dramatic turn.

What a year.
In 2025, we broke down barriers and built new bridges between artists, brands, and fans.
Led by our principles, we helped move culture forward.
And we’re just getting started.
Big love to everyone who rocked with us last year. Here’s to 2026.
June 13th 2025, a day we’ll never forget.
Now that the dust has settled and the legs have just about recovered, we wanted to take a moment to reflect and thank everyone who supported us.
Running 99.5KM for a friend we lost ten years ago was always going to be an emotional day, but nothing could’ve prepared us for how much it would mean.
Coming up that final hill and turning the corner to see so many friends and family is a moment we’ll never forget.
The charity set up in Archie’s name has always been about more than supporting talent. It’s about backing young people with purpose, those who want to grow and give back.
With your support, we’ve now raised over £25,000, money that will go directly to helping young people pursue their goals. Thank you so much to everyone than donated.
We’re incredibly proud of what this day stood for and grateful to have shared it with so many of you.
On the 13th of June, myself @georgeshipton@doug_woolfenden and @tristantdavid will be taking on the challenge of running from our prep school, Cheam, to Harrow school in memory of our great friend, Archie.
The run is going to be about 90kms in memory of Arch, 10 years after his passing. All donations will be going to Team Archie a foundation set up in his name to support young children in reaching their potential through sport and education.
We would love anyone to support with any donations you can. For more information you, can find the link to the Just Giving page in our bios.

On June 13th myself, Douglas, Miles and Tristan will be running just over 50 Miles (90km) in a single day in memory of our great friend Archie Lloyd on what would have been his 28th birthday.
The route connects Cheam and Harrow, the two schools Archie attended, and the places where we shared some of our best times with him.
Archie was a huge part of our lives growing up, and this run is our way of honouring the memories we shared with him, ten years on, by doing something good in his name. We’re raising money for Team Archie, a foundation set up in his memory that helps young people achieve their potential through sport and education.
We’d really appreciate any support and donations no matter how big or small.
