Dorney's been over for a bit and I've been sitting on all these smiley marker faces. I have some more hiding in my phone but I think those might just stay there forever.
I think I just make drawings with the thought that someday something will just fall into my lap and I feel like the chain of events that led up to me making caricatures at @luartgalleries 100 year anniversary felt like that :^) I'm very grateful to have been trusted to do this event and for being given the freedom to use my preferred style and mediums. This was one of the most validating events I've ever done.
I don't think I've ever drawn this many people before in one sitting. Halfway through I lost touch with humanity (even more than usual) and just spaced out into the drawing part of my brain lol.
I haven't checked out the gallery yet so I'm a big phony but it's open to the public and it features the art of 100 local artists fyi.

I made some pencil drawings last month at @hues_of_bluez grad party. I was joined by the legend @lavalampbebop who made some impromptu marker drawings alongside me. It was a lot of fun and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have done this :^)

As for this drawing, I wanted to make something that looked like it was almost real like a cutout from a magazine but also done by hand. Maybe it'd be more badass if it was done traditionally but also maybe one day I'll accept that digital art is valid :^). I had fun experimenting with it, maybe fake collage is my new thing.
