Last night did something to me.
The Generation Fearless Legacy Reimagined Gala was beautiful beyond anything we could have planned…community across sectors, across generations, across cultures. In a world that feels heavy and fractured, it felt like healing. It felt like light.
So many have asked me what “Legacy Reimagined” means.
For me, it’s this:
It’s holding my mother’s hand in rooms she was never invited into.
It’s watching her sit at tables that were never built with her in mind.
It’s rewriting parts of her story, not because it was lacking, but because her sacrifices made expansion possible.
Last night, I wasn’t a founder.
I wasn’t an executive.
I wasn’t a speaker.
I was simply la hija de Marisela.
The daughter of a woman who worked without recognition.
Who sacrificed without applause.
Who carried more than anyone saw.
Who believed, even when she didn’t have proof.
Her survival became my strategy.
Her prayers became my platform.
Her endurance became my access.
Legacy Reimagined is not about forgetting where we come from. It’s about honoring it so deeply that we build beyond it, together.
Last night, I got to look at my mother and know:
We did this.
Side by side.
Hand in hand.
Across generations.
And that is the kind of legacy that humbles you.

Yesterday I attended the Generation Fearless Owning My Journey retreat…and it was one of those rare spaces that felt truly intentional.
It felt honest.
It felt grounded.
It felt like a room full of women who are actually doing the work, creating space, making an impact, and supporting each other in real ways.
If I’m being honest, a lot of spaces can feel transactional. Like everyone is there to sell something or gain something.
This was different.
And it reminded me of something I think about often, there isn’t always enough real support.
Not enough “we can all get there together.”
We say we want to see change.
We say we believe in supporting each other.
But that only matters if you actually live it.
For me, that looks like being intentional about how I show up for people, making space when I can and supporting without always expecting something in return.
Because real impact isn’t just what you say, it’s how you show up.
