Hello,
Iām headed out on a phone-free adventure for the next twoish weeks. Until then, please enjoy yourself, go see my show at Vintage Berkeley if the spirit moves you, and take care of each other. My partner Michael @okayxulo will be in charge of art sales while Iām offline, you can email him at [email protected] to get that going. Other inquiries I will tend to in June. THANK YOU
Finished up this sweet commission for a friend, largely inspired by her brilliant and very creative daughters. Iām booking summer projects! Send me a message at [email protected]
CHASING A FEELING INTO INFINITY
I was lowkey embarrassed about this painting after I finished it but then it hung out on my wall for a few days and it really grew on me, so I was delighted to hear from a few folks at my opening that it was their favorite š
Itās still over at Vintage Berkeley, you can stroll over there and have some wine and sunshine.
Yesterday I asked my friend (6 years old) what she was looking forward to in her life and she said āplants, birds, animalsāand I was very impressed with this totally unrehearsed reply and how fully it embodied the āeveryday is Earth Dayā sentiment. We can all look forward to the every day delights we are afforded on this earth

My show Regress Into The Future is up at Vintage Berkeley on Vine Street! The opening was so fun I have basically no photos from it, but Iāll get some sent my way soon :) Please go look at the art in the person- it really feels better than looking at hereā¦
That said, let me know if youād like to be sent a digital catalog of the show.
THANK YOU to everyone at @vbscwine especially Mike, to my partner @okayxulo for helping install and providing yummy snacks at the opening, to @mohodges1 for being a perfect DJ, and @steuartpittman for excellent advice and a beautiful frame.
My show opens tomorrow at Vintage Berkeley at 2pm!
The title Regress into the Future has a double meaning. On the one hand, I wanted to stylistically regress by incorporating more free expression and universal forms. As I worked, the idea of an intentional regression started resonating on a macro level. It is my personal prayer for society that we can move away from this goal of frictionless, automated lives and become more connected to embodied living. Physical play is a fundamental need for all people and increasingly we are becoming dissociated from it. I know we canāt literally regress to a simpler time, but perhaps we as individuals can slow down, play more, and rely more on each other than computers. That what my art is about! I hope you like it!

This is the biggest painting Iāve made in almost 2 years and I worked through a lot of ideas and fear before it came through. When I started creating pieces for this show I was following an urge to move away from 3 dimensional space, toward pure expression. The results are a mix of abstract and representational work, and many pieces land somewhere right in between. This piece certainly did- itās the most maximal in scope and vibe of the collection. I hope you come look at it and celebrate with me at @vbscwine this Sunday afternoon!
Special thanks to @okayxulo for helping me hang this show with his long arms and good eye, and for providing munchies for the party :)
