A celebration of the show I directed at @guildhallschool :
Government Inspector
I completely loved it. All the brilliant graduating actors and then so so many students in every design and sm department also!
It was epic, and especially joyful because of sharing the process with @charlie.espiner on design and @lauraweston1 on movement direction. What a team all round.
Great pix from David Monteith-Hodge
Thank you to phillipe gaulier.
This photo was taken after only two weeks of clown, but i feel like i know each of these people in such an intimate way and that is down to the depth of the time.
I went late on - 2021 - after sososo many friends had worked with him, in london and etampes. and i am sososo glad that i did. It really feels like an honour.
But it's so beyond me - everyone I know who works in theatre has been somehow touched by his work. At most one step removed from a student of his.
Truly mindblowing.
LAST CHANCE to see The Women of Pembroke exhibition this Saturday 31st January 2026 at Pembroke College Cambridge @pembroke1347
Opening hours: 11am - 3pm in the Exhibition Room.
As part of the 40th anniversary of Pembroke’s admission of women students in 1984, I was commissioned to undertake a series of group portraits from across the Pembroke community: alumnae, Fellows past and present, students and staff. All portraits were shot on film using a Mamiya RZ medium format camera.
The exhibition of 26 group portraits and accompanying short film, which I worked on with @tomstewwwart is open for the final day this Saturday and then will form part of the College’s permanent art collection.

I'm researching the The Doors Moment from *DANCE BEAR DANCE*. It will form a part of the entry on Coup de Théâtre in my new book - a Glossary of Theatrical Terms.
(Generously supported by the University of O)
If anyone remembers their experience of this famous moment, and feels like sharing that experience with me, I'd love to hear from you. You can send me a little DM.
(or just comment!)
I'm interested in how the audience remembers moments of theatre. And how that builds the future life of this particular art form. Also, I'll be writing a bit about how we made it work (which turns out to be stupidly complex and a bit annoying to write about so I'd much rather read your writing than mine right now).
Thank you to anyone who messages!
