GeekSessionsConf 2026 happened. And it was something.
150 people showed up at IPDJ Faro on March 21 for a full day of talks, workshops, wholesome activities, and the kind of conversations that remind you why community matters.
We kicked things off a week earlier with the Community Map inauguration, an exhibition showcasing 30+ projects from communities across the Algarve. Tech, art, social impact, civic action. All local. All real.
On conference day: 9 speakers, 3 workshops, a VR documentary experience, origami and tarot in the networking lounge, a fireside chat about communities and ethics in the age of AI, and a closing after party at Bar Travessa Latina that kept going well past the plan.
From sign language AI to the small web, from OpenClaw agents to a $10m sales journey, from Zen productivity to AI as operator, the range of what this community cares about is what makes it special.
Thank you to every speaker, sponsor, partner, volunteer, and attendee who made this happen. We're a volunteer-run community. This only works because people show up. And you showed up.

Agent harnesses that can potentially spend your mother's credit card (or not, if we know what we're doing)
We'll get an intro to agent harnesses available (Openclaw, Hermes and Worth). Unlike a chatbot in a browser tab, they runs somewhere you control, keep memory between sessions, and some can be reached from things like Telegram.
This Wednesday at Meetballs we're setting one up together and giving it a permanent address.
We'll wire Hermes to a free language model through OpenRouter - no subscription, no credit card.
You'll pick where to run it: a free cloud server, your own laptop via Nix, or your own laptop via Docker. Whichever route you pick, someone in the room will be on the same one.
Bring a laptop and a charger. No prior experience needed. By the end you'll have a working agent you can keep playing with after the session.
As always, we aim for a gathering that is fun, silly, casual, educational and inclusive except for the exclusive.
