Performance Testing for Men’s Tennis…. Testing is training and training is testing!! Multitude of performance tests shown here with a few descriptions. Not all are shown, here is a snapshot of a handful of tests we do throughout training. ASH Test: Force Outputs and asymmetries in both limbs in the I/Y/T position. Establish baselines and seeking to see if any deficiencies appear in those positions for this population. Healthy shoulders=better overall tennis athlete. IMTP: How high is the ceiling for bilateral force output? At what rate is the athlete getting to peak force(rfd)? Does the athlete produce force symmetrically in a high threshold movement such as this? CMJ: How does the athlete organize their body to apply force in the ground to jump? From an unloaded period, loaded, explode, & landing standpoint! Squat Jump: How does the athlete organize in just the concentric phase of the jump? Peak Propulsive Power! Altitude Landing: How quick does the athlete absorb the forces from the ground to stabilize the body. Deceleration!! EUR reporting: Eccentric Utilization ratio (cmj/sj), provides insight on how the athlete uses, or lack thereof, the stretch shortening cycle. DSI reporting: CMJ Peak Force/IMTP Peak Force, seek the disparity in the athlete’s ability to generate force dynamically compared to isometrically. Are they dynamically utilizing what have? Both EYR&DSI reports paint a picture to what future training needs to look like! 2mile Bike Test: Where are we from an overall fitness capacity standpoint? 10yd Acceleration: With a yard behind the timing gates for setup purposes, how are we accelerating to 10yards? Paints a picture for horizontal displacement! 10yd Fly (20yd Build): What is our max velocity? All of these tests help provide more insight on the questions we may have for each athlete to guide their training plan to be a more comprehensive program for each individual. Provides clues, not answers… Main goal is to optimize performance and sustain the ability to be on the court (healthy)!! #valdperformance #dashr #tennis #performance #tennisperformance #monitoring #optimize #growthmindset #bettertogether
