Circle Of Fifths is Back.
We are taking the show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but first we are bringing the Circle Of Fifths back to Butetown Community Centre. Circle of Fifths is a show that is close to my heart. Starting off as an impulse to process the passing of my uncle John, Circle of Fifths became a documentary theatre show that explores death, music, ceremony and celebration.
Circle of Fifths celebrates the funeral traditions of Butetown, Cardiff. A tradition that mixes Arabic culture, Caribbean culture and African culture with a load of Welsh culture to create a unique ceremony. Myself and the cast feel honoured and privileged to be able to share our story with the world.
