Happy Earth Day! @bradcaleblee and I have been spending the day cataloguing and creating a database of the fabulous items in the @walesmillenniumcentre costume store, so that others can borrow easily and curb our reliance on new garments and fast fashion! Let’s close the loop and get some sustainable theatre on the go! Thanks for having us @victoriajohntheatre :) #earthday #theatregreenbook #circulareconomy

A visual collection of my wonderful time with @theatrclwyd #stiwdioclwyd last week on their #sparksresidency. Such an enriching week exploring my theatre design practice in an inspiring theatre building that invites the local landscape in. In a time where arts funding is getting thinner and thinner, I hope many more freelance artists get this opportunity to think and to create.

Our storage survey closes on 23rd March! In the interests of promoting a circular economy model in the Welsh Arts Sector Creu Cymru is collecting data from as many performing arts companies/venues across Wales as we can. The aim is to map out what we as a sector currently have in place for storage of sets, props, costumes, technical equipment etc, with a view to working out a viable shared storage model in the future. Please click on the link below and fill out the survey to the best of your ability (even if you have no storage in place, it's important we capture this information) – it should take about 5 minutes to complete. We will close the survey at 6pm on Monday 23rd March. https://lnkd.in/ed8eqGnP Image: Li Jianhua, Yuwi Survey (2006) #circulareconomy #sustainableperformingarts #welshtheatre

We’re officially launching THE ECOSTAGE FRAMEWORK! Join us online to celebrate the launch of our new framework! This is something we’ve been working on throughout the past year as a tool to help place ecological thinking at the heart of creative practice. We’ve been trialling it out at our Ecostage Lab and just last week in Hull. Huge thank you to those who have given us feedback along the way and help us to develop it! We’d love for you all to join us and find out more so you can use the tool in your own projects! Wednesday 18th March 6pm Online The eventbrite link is in our bio! Tickets are FREE 😊

Our Welsh storage survey is now live! Isn’t it sad that we all have so much useful STUFF bursting out of storage spaces, but we don’t know how to let other companies know that they can borrow it, instead of buying something brand new? We want to change all that by exploring a shared storage initiative! In the interests of promoting a circular economy model and to avoid sending more STUFF to landfill, @creucymruarts is collecting data from as many performing arts companies/venues across Wales as we can. We will be collecting responses until Monday 23rd March. Please pass the survey links along so we can reach as many Welsh companies as possible! /forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeUVCAaychKChMMVTIaCnyZcbTjJfLLk8KJP8mIcdPYKYhUsg/viewform?usp=header Image by Camille Boitel #sustainabletheatre #circulareconomy #theatrewales

A week of dreaming and exploring design ideas for The Mab with @takingflighttheatre ! Thanks to the amazing talents of @carldaviesdesign @louis_creates bringing their fantastic design and puppetry experience into the room, and to @thelittleone74 for bouncing directing ideas around! Many thanks also to @riverfrontarts for hosting and supporting us, and to local businesses @arcadiacafeandbistro @barpiazza for spot on lunches! Elise and I topped off the week with a trip to @welshnat_opera_cencym costume sale to explore some second hand costume ideas - needless to say we had far too much fun and walked away with a bag full! Can’t wait for the next iteration of this project as the show takes shape :) #welshtheatre #setdesign #costume #sustainabletheatre #puppetry

150,000 certified carbon literate people across 47 nations, courtesy of the Carbon Literacy Project! I'm really proud to have been a part of the @wearesbtd Society of British Theatre Designers Sustainability Working Group, helping to grow that number by writing and delivering our own course specifically for designers and their associates. Sustainable design is such an important part of my own creative practice and I love helping others to learn how they can integrate it with theirs. If you're interested in taking Carbon Literacy Training, we're running a course at the Wales Millennium Centre on Thursday 22nd January, sign up using the link below. It's suitable for theatre designers, directors, production managers and makers. A great way to making some positive first steps into 2026! /e/design-futures-carbon-literacy-training-tickets-1976192768769?aff=oddtdtcreator #150kcarbonliterate #SBTD
