For moments that demand presence 🌹my operatic butterfly @katiestenzel Costume design for the Bleach Festival finale Cavalcade. A live operatic experience featuring opera, orchestra and equestrian acts on the beach under the stars (or clouds and rain as our case was over the weekend 😅) This fiery creation was designed to move with the music and command our sandy stage. The theme of the show was control to freedom showcased through the various styles of horsemanship in the show. Working closely with the vision of creative directors @michaelzavros & @gav.webber I tried to implement these themes into Katies costume through corsetry, binding her arms and the freedom in the movement of fabric. Ok, I’m a little too proud of this, but have a look at the picture on the right. Is it a Caravaggio? No, it’s not a oil painting, it’s a mirror. It’s Sam and me somewhere on the Camino, in some church, a GavnSamaggio. Go to the link in bio for more Camino tales.

I am a horse. I am a trapped horse. Ok I’m not a horse but I identify. What do I look at? The house? The fence? The open paddock? More memories of the Camino. Follow the link in bio.

The train to our starting point is a detox from two days flying and sitting in airports. The Camino is big but it’s funny to travel so far to just slow down and walk. Read the second part of our Camino journey here (link in bio).

Recently we’re made out ten year old son walk 450 kilometres along the Camiño de Santiago in Spain. That’s right, we made him, at least that’s the story he likes to tell. But there is another one and over the next few weeks I’m releasing some memories, emotions and experiences we had along the way. It’s all on my blog, inside the wolf, which you can get to via the link in my bio. I’ve been writing letters to Sam for the last 4 years, ever since covid changed the world and he started his long journey from boy to something else. It’s not a parenting blog because I still don’t know what that is, or how to do it (blogging or parenting), but it is personal and poetic and I hope one day he might want to read them. In the meantime I invite you. Read, share, all the things. Love and life and of course, Buen Camiño.
