A small one, a very personal one.
This book offers a glimpse into my world as an artist—what I make, why I make it, and the journey that led me to my most recent works. It’s about growing up in Spakenburg, where religion plays a big part in life, and how that shaped me and influenced my art. Through a process of coping and self-discovery, I’ve created artifacts of my own inner world.
Inside, you’ll find sketches, illustrations, inspirations, archival images and beautiful photos by the talented @lottedale and @zindzizwietering .

Last week was the CUTEST 🪐💚
We helped 22 kids from Weesp create a giant tapestry speculating about the future of Amsterdam. This tapestry will be exhibited at the @amsterdammuseum by the end of the year.
The kids designed their own future characters, known as “Weespertjes,” and crafted this tableau using only secondhand polyester clothing. It illustrates how, in 2000 years, our planet will be completely underwater, and we will have journeyed to Mars. 👽
Working with this amazing group of kids, their boundless creativity and curiosity really warmed my little heart. And collaborating on this project with cuties @kuhnjakate and @dideverkerk was the 🍒 on top of the pie!
