My first ever comedy gig was ticking off one of the things on my 30 fun things at 30 list in 2011
I'd been the class clown, prankster and silly story teller and finally decided to give comedy a go!
As a one off at a gig run by The team behind The Hull Comedy Festival in front of over 50 of my friends and family
8 minutes turned into 19 and I was hooked and quite funny but thought I'd ticked it off and that was that!
8 months later, my 2nd gig was hosting my own night and I've never looked back
My time keeping is much better now I have a watch and I still don't tell many jokes!
Thanks to comedy for the friends, connections, opportunities and laughs and giving me a creative outlet for my thoughts and daft ideas and being a multi award nominated and winning festival director (feel very lucky)
You never know just how amazing comedy can be until you give it a go
