Last week we were out and about at Scarborough Castle with pupils from Gladstone Road Primary School… They’ve been learning all about the castle’s history and why it’s so important to Scarborough. They’ve also been exploring the grounds and searching for evidence of wildlife. Over the next few weeks, pupils will be learning more about Scarborough Castle and the wildlife that lives there in this brand-new immersive adventure as part of our ongoing New Shores project. As always, we are proud to be working with the @kit__theatre team to bring Adventures in Learning to Scarborough Primary Schools. We are also excited to be working with @englishheritage for this Castles Quest adventure. 🐄The cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, the slipper as pure as gold. 🩸We are excited to announce ARCADE Youth Theatre’s production of Into The Woods Jr! 🌽The baker and his wife wish to have a child, Cinderella wishes to go to the king’s festival and Jack just wishes his cow could give him some milk. But in their quest to have their wishes come true, they end up changed forever. Be careful what you wish for… 👠Rehearsals will be on Wednesday nights at St John’s Burlington Church Bridlington, with performances taking place in November and the journey begins TOMORROW! There’s still plenty of time to get involved- so if you’re a budding young performer then get in touch via [email protected] for more information. ‘We own this estate, it runs through our veins’ Today is world poetry day and we’re looking back at the amazing work created by the participants of ‘Playing Out’ earlier this year. They wrote some beautiful poetry and spoken word pieces all about what Gallows means to them. Here’s a snippet of some of their words: ‘Gallows is the place to come when you are lost. Gallows is what makes me who I am’ ‘Without our friends we wouldn’t be here’ Their words really show the impact ‘Playing Out’ and @gallowsclose has had on the young people involved. Artist @orakald said this about one of the participants: ‘her confidence has gone up tenfold’ ‘I really hope she uses this moment to take it into other areas of her life’. ‘Playing Out’ is produced by ARCADE in partnership with @orchestras_live and is part of the AMP ‘Amplify’ programme funded by @youthmusicuk .
