Anything i have ever set my mind to in this life i have never been afraid to fail many many many times before i achieved my goal .. And on the rare occasion i didn’t reach the end goal i got a lot further than i would have without the consistent hard work & desire i do have .. If i am only thing - it’s someone with a great passion to achieve in life .. and i have already achieved far more than i ever thought i would back when i was a skinny, anxious, worrying teenager with no self belief, little self esteem and zero self confidence.. 8 things i’ve learn’t of late that may be valuable to even 1 person. This isn’t advice it’s just my personal perspective on what has landed with me for me. May or may not resonate and be applicable. I’m no guru. 1. The importance of ensuring you are fuelled correctly for training and even more importantly for the actual events. I’ve seen people blow a gasket because of this. I think a-lot of people are under fuelled. 2. Everyday doesn’t have to be HARD training for you to feel like you are making progress. Easy days can propel you on for you to get the maximum from the harder days. 3. Taking days off , focusing on recovery doesn’t make you lazy, it makes you smart. Otherwise you’ll end up injured, tired all the time and low on enthusiasm. 4. Eating less to get leaner, eating correctly should be the focus. I’ve ate more of the good stuff, trained consistently and got leaner. That said i am about 1 stone in weight and a a good few % body fat from where i would like to be. 5. Take what you are doing seriously BUT not too seriously to the point you don’t enjoy it - enjoy the journey. I love the journey of progressing. 6. Take inspiration from anyone BUT do NOT compare your journey to anyone else’s .. this is YOUR journey + be proud of yourself. I’ve been super inspired by people like @sineadboyd8 @strongher_coaching @jakubriedel03 @aodhangallen @maggiedoherty07 @the.hybrid_dad @footballeggs and others out doing their thing. Brilliant. I love following the E15’s too. 7. There is hyrox information overload here on social media and the reality is most people are still figuring out on the go whats really working, choose some people you respect, trust and digest there information and apply what you feel is for you. I enjoy @theirishfitnessguy @aaron_travers4 content on this ..relatable and walking the talk so to speak. 8. Get a coach , don’t get a coach. 2 good ones in previous point. Super personal to you and your goals. I’ve had them and they are beneficial, sometimes i just like doing my own thing, absorbing information and trying things out to see if i respond to them - just enjoying it all as i go. Thats just me. Next up 🇩🇪 23 days time. Everything confirmed 💯 You know me i don’t like to make a big deal of me doing these things ;-) Mens Solo category - thats the right one for me. Last time in 44-49 category. 😬 Just going to dial in on my nutrition, focused training and to be really honest just enjoying it all. Enjoying my training, getting fitter and then enjoying the experience too. Blessed and grateful. Going to take a break in June & July from anything Hyrox related and just train and keep myself fit like i normally would .. If i can, i’d love to go and watch @sean_noble7 live in Stockholm, that would be a buzz .. I said i was going to do 10 official @hyroxworld events from Nov past and this will be my 6th coming up …. then i’ll go again Aug / Sept.. keep it moving and finish the year strong. Keeping following my health + fitness goals and ambitions. Anyway, lets go Berlin 🔥 🇩🇪 I’m going to do 150 wallballs for the craic too at the end. It’s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 event week and i’m having to nurse and manage a few things to get to the start line… again. Don’t get it wrong - i am blessed. If i could change things - i don’t know if i fully would - makes me the man i am. I was supposed to walk this path to show myself and others i and we can do pretty much anything. I believe that. I am grateful for the mindset i have because i know unless i’m limping ..i’ll be doing it. 💯 fact. If i hadn’t the mindset i do i wouldn’t have done half what i have or what i’m going to do. Staying focused on all things good and there are many. Forced rest never sits well with me but its total rest today , tomorrow, probably Wed, do something Thursday then total rest until Sunday .. that’s how i’m rolling .. f**k it let’s go. 🔥 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 then 🇩🇪 #fyp #hyrox

I would say i have pretty good, strong, focused mindset. On the whole anyway. Driven & focused. Obsessively so. …. I get smart remarks here and there about all the stuff i be at .. the Hyrox stuff (running around in circles, like a headless chicken lol was one remark, posing for photos all the time was another 😂 .. and it goes on and on , all the training i do ( you aren’t wise etc ), my career (what do you even do Gary ).. and always all without exception from people who don’t get it or me .. and i don’t want them too .. i’m not focused on their opinions but for the sake of people that are i’m sharing this .. They mean nothing to me either .. and i don’t care for their opinion.. but you get an influx of crap when you put yourself out there and i actually deleted my Tik Tok, Twitter and Facebook accounts as i was reacting to muppets … and i’d probably end up door stepping someone if i had of continued to react lol .. I just share what i’m upto , document the journey and all this stuff i am at .. gives me a real purpose, dials me in on improving my health + fitness, keeps me eating clean, off alcohol, gives me a reason to enjoy new experiences, places, meeting new people and just continually improving and growing .. I’d encourage the same assholes to live their lives too .. it’s far too short .. you can focus on me , i would too if i was you .. but i’d also focus on myself and start living .. Social media might not be entirely real .. but i’ll tell you what .. i am. 💯 I am blessed ! 49 years young and fit as a fiddle .. 🫶🏻🤝 I always say it - keep going FOREVER 📈 #fyp
