The @vadundee catwalk exhibition is an excellently conceived exhibition. Not easy to present fashion in an exhibition. But very well done here. I especially loved the detailed drawings of incredible dexterity. And the cultural history looms large in these garments and their relationship to life and its aspirations.
I love the success of my students. And at the @insights space at @edinburghuniversity@sumlacs has produced a telling exhibition/installation of the essence of water derived from research on the #riverforth environmentally essential work.
Amidst the turmoil of British politics it’s heartening we can summon the military resolve to fly thousands of miles to the South Atlantic and help some virus victims in #tristadacunha British paratroopers dropping in with medical supplies. I had the pleasure of being in the #Ascension Island’s a while back where this mission was launched.

A great exhibition opening last night for the Bicentennial celebrations of the @royal_scottish_academy . Thank you to all staff and contributing artists and architects.
It’s a privilege for me to be President at this historic moment. 200 years of supporting the arts and architecture. Apologies to those who had to wait for entry due to crowd pressure. The masterminds behind this bicentennial exhibition are convenors Annie Cattrell and Fergus Purdie and their teams. Congratulations to them.
Today as President of the @royal_scottish_academy I presided over a lunch for 125 Artist and Architect members and Honorary members. This was a special event given that we are celebrating our @bicentenial 200 years of supporting the @arts.and.culture across the nation. The guest speaker @duncanmacmillan gave an in-depth and compelling history of our charitable organisation. The @thescottishcafe staff under the wing of @mary.contini were magnificent caterers. So professional and absolutely on song for a big special occasion.
In Cumbria for the weekend and long distance bee keeping has it’s challenges. The bees ran out of prepared wax comb to fill, so they started to create their own comb on the roof of the hive. Far from perfect bee keeping but I love coming home to Cumbria and they are still alive and doing good work for crops, environment etc
To escape the predicted #Haar clouds in Dundee we went up the amazingly beautiful A9 road today, reminding me of Vermont north of #newyork and climbed up to the #bruarfalls
The preparation for the framing of a large watercolour for the upcoming @bicentenial of the @royal_scottish_academy With a sheet of 640 grams of @archespaper you need lots of supports and an oak frame. This work has been posted in development and after months of work completed. The title is “New Energy” and with reference/reverance to the watercolours of @ericravilious
During a walk on the wonderful #tentsmuirbeach in #fife today we encountered this. A clever visually sharp person had spotted this lovely driftwood tree, dug a substantial hole and presented this wonderful example of#publicart
