The @echo_neutra Rivanera Piccolo hardly left my wrist in the first week of ownership. It’s small, ultralight, automatic, and coupled with the slim rubber strap, it just goes everywhere. No need to dress up (I never do), and it will feel right at home with virtually any outfit other than wetsuits. My quick takes on a few frequently asked questions: Q: MB vs GB? Both looked great when I saw them at @windupwatchfair for different aesthetics. I went with the MB because I always wanted to have one all-black dial like onyx or lacquer, and this was an alternative approach to that look, and also this was my wife’s (who gifted me this watch for my b-day) instant favorite. Also, I thought the MB coupled with the rubber strap really pushed the essence of this watch to the extreme. That said, I admit the GB was the one I picked up first when I saw them at the show, and I really love that look as well. Q. Glare, legibility, reflection etc? Since the crystal is flat, glare nor reflection was an issue both in practical use and photos. Also the Musou black painted dial is super matte and black so no reflection on it neither. Of course there are no indices, but the combination of polished silver hands and matte black dial gives great contrast, and I can very quickly and accurately read time, which was a bit of a surprise. I do note that you will see smudges and fingerprints on the crystal. I’m actually looking forward to getting some scratches and bright marks from use in a few years down the road. I don’t wanna sound like a snob at all, but I’d say I’m mostly a first-party lens guy per system whenever it makes sense. I have my reasons, but I also have some exceptions to this personal preference. One of those exceptions is when a third-party lens brings a clear differentiator to the image and/or the shooting experience, while the first-party lineup is clearly not offering such choice. If you are a long time follower of my IG, you know I’m all about compact stuff. I personally believe the compactness is a real feature and advantage for practical use of tools, and camera/lens being small and light is a pinnacle of that notion. Here is one example of such cases: @voigtlander_japan Color-Skopar 35mm F3.5 is tiny. I mean, REALLY tiny. See the second picture showing the profile of the lens, which has the included ultra thin UV filter on. (We need more of these!) The lens is also super light, weighing about 1/2 of the Summicron 50mm v4 in the photo, which is already one of the lightest lenses in the Leica lineup. This lens on an M, coupled with my favorite @artisanandartist cloth strap, basically makes the setup coat-pocketable. A b-day #NWA thanks to my amazing wife. At @windupwatchfair San Francisco 2026, I fell in love with the @echo_neutra Rivanera Piccolo. This was how I described it when I first saw it: it’s the Tank that is actually a tank. The watch is 26mm x 33mm at 6.9mm thickness, has 20.6mm Sellita SW1000 automatic movement wrapped in a grade 5 titanium case and an unindexed dial of three variations — mine is the “MB” which is made with Musou Black paint, absorbing 99.4% of light — and the watch ships with not only a choice of leather straps but also a rubber one. It’s the best kind of oxymoronic design disciplines with restraints and clear intentions, IMHO. While I was at the show, I was sending my wife, a designer and co-owner of @fogcats_yanchako , a few photos of the watches I thought she’d like as well. She really clicked with the Piccolo, specifically the MB variant, and decided to gift it to me for my birthday. So, yeah, I am extremely blessed. My father’s Seiko Tuna. He was a diving instructor, and the watch was used for its purpose. I’ve dove with it, too, and taken it to a week-long motorcycle touring (another hobby I picked up from my old man) as well. I had been cutting back on my time on the saddle lately for a few reasons. I need to ease back in, but it’s good to spend a bit of time outside of the normal routine. This is my first ride with the @hodinkee x @timex Ironman 8-Lap as well. It’s a perfect riding watch. It’s light, low profile, super legible, and I’d dare say inexpensive ;) Having front buttons for chronograph and lap-timing is genuinely practical. I think, again, dare I say, I’ll take the Ironman over a G-Shock for activities that are included in the Ironman triathlon. The W&W week is in full swing, but a little package came in to deliver the simply joy of a plastic @timex digital watch from the 80s — with a @hodinkee signature twist. I came close to getting the gray OG style 8-Lap from Timex Japan many times in the past, but I’m glad I waited. It’s not a high horological masterpiece. It’s not even mechanical. It’s certainly not a smart fitness tracker. But man it’s fun and low-key vibing hard. I’ll be taking the Ironman to — alas not an Ironman race — running, riding and tennis starting this week, but you don’t have to be super active to enjoy this fun watch. #garactacle #timexironman #watchreview #1986 #hodinkee

I have been enjoying the Omega Aqua Terra 38mm for a while now. It’s really wearable, got iconic and very Omega twisted lugs, and I love the dial design that combines the sportiness and classic aesthetics. I also think the date window execution here is one of better ones out there, and I’m usually not a date guy. I’d love to see Omega adding tool-free micro adjustments to the bracelet, and, man, this exact dial design at 36mm would be amazing (for my 6.25” wrist). None of the downsides were a dealbreaker for me and likely for many others. I think, especially at a discounted price in the used market (like @bobswatches where I’m borrowing this piece from), this is one of the great buys today and a true GADA watch for many.
