Abigail is a handcrafted adventure game about going home. Transported home for the week, Abigail must navigate her splintered friend group and explore vibrant neighborhoods made out of felt, clay, and cardboard, each with their own way of playing the ubiquitous folk game Azulejo.

Hanwen Xu Mame is a game designer and 3D artist whose work explores video games as a medium for personal expression. His game Growth Spurt was nominated for the 2025 Independent Games Festival (IGF) Best Student Game Award, as well as the A MAZE and BAFTA Student Awards. His works have been exhibited internationally at the Museum of the Moving Image, the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Boshi’s place, and Wonderville NYC.
Hanwen Xu Mame says: “I think of the games I make as collages. They’re messy, layered, overflowing. I like to include as many sensory treats as I can: strange textures, unexpected sounds, sudden shifts in perspective, moments of quiet, and moments of chaos. To me, a game is a space where contradictions can live together, and where beauty and discomfort can collide.”

After a life affirming kafkaesque IGF awards show...the Growth Spurt sign decided to meander into the after hours of a miscalculation 🚶♂️
