Post-Internet Potato Futurism (New Yorku) 2025

This project consists of five banner prints that stage a fictional attempt to return the potato from Europe to its homeland.
From a Czech field, the artist sends the potatoes back to the American continent in digital form. Since their physical relocation to the United States is impossible, the tubers are scanned and pushed through the digital world. Their appearance on billboards can be read as an advertisement for a triumphant return or as a manifestation of their determination to confront us with their colonial history.

Exhibition Highlight: “Outside:IN” at Brooklyn Art Haus, Williamsburg
There’s a really awesome street art collective with whom I’ve been connected for a little over a year (I even wheatpasted some of my photography with them last Summer) called Gallery BQE. This collective utilizes the columns of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway as their makeshift, outdoors, come-what-may alternative gallery. A few months ago, Gallery BQE attracted some wonderful recognition and the artists were invited to exhibit their work at the nearby Brooklyn Art Haus on Marcy Street. The show was originally scheduled to run for about a month, but it wound up getting extended two or three more times! It’s been ages since I last followed the collective’s activities, so it was a joy to visit the closing party of their multi-extended show last night and reconnect with some friends plus meet new creatives.
Congratulations to Kelsey, the founder of Gallery BQE, for this event and for securing a new arts grant! And bravo to each of the artists who participated in this show! 🥳

“We conceived this collaboration in late 2023 as we began shooting self-portraits together, merging our background as performers and visual artists.
