We are delighted to announce the selected artist for our recent open call is Tringa Gashi @tringity Tringa Gashi (b. 1996) is based in Copenhagen/Malmö and educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (2024) and Malmö Art Academy (2021). As a Swedish-Kosovar Albanian artist, she works from a cross-cultural perspective, exploring how intimate experiences are intertwined with economic and historical systems. In her work, a recurring interest lies in the circulation of images in public and commercial spaces. Through photography, film, and installation, she examines how images are shaped by—and simultaneously reproduce—economic structures, desire, and cultural imaginaries. Tringa’s work will be presented in our upcoming window exhibition during the summer (more info to come). We would also like to give a huge thanks to everyone who applied. This year we received a total of 119 proposals from all over the world and the high quality and diversity of submissions made the selection process incredibly difficult!

Be sure to join us next Friday for the opening of 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘳, a solo exhibition by @eva_terez Eva-Teréz Gölin has, for the past decade, been questioning the boundaries of the photographic medium through digital processes and online imagery. In the exhibition 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘳, she presents two series of works, one of which is based solely on the colours of the motifs, omitting variations in light that have been the common denominator of photographic images since the birth of the medium. The other series consists of portraits rendered in pigment ink on light-sensitive silver gelatine paper in an unfixed state. The paper – and thus the image – can therefore be seen as being in constant transformation, already containing a possible future.

DEAD FATHERS Katarina Elvèn & Beata Fransson 13.03—26.04 In Dead Fathers Katarina Elvén and Beata Fransson present works developed in dialogue as a joint attempt to reformulate the vocabulary, systems, and logic of photographic technique. The artists’ reflections on the materiality of the image and the apparatus are rooted in a critique of how the frame has become the natural way for humans to present the world through. The exhibition includes the site of Lacock Abbey and several images of The Latticed Window, the primal scene of reproducible photography and a frequently cited starting point in the narrative of the medium’s history. It was at this site that what came to be known as “the world’s first negative” was produced, giving rise to the negative/positive dichotomy and to the new possibilities offered by the photographic image through its capacity to be enlarged or reduced, infinitely copied and reproduced.

A few views of our current show 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘺 by @mariella__otto The exhibition is on until 1st March. ‘This exhibition is the result of a one-year iterative process that has moved between filmed and generated material, the photograph and its mutant—exchanging the shade of blackberry bushes and the light of the monitor. I’ve been coating and clearings screens, writing, assembling, staging [prompting]. Embedded in the outputs are crossings of the domesticated and wild, of control and chance.’
