This series of self-portraits with my partner began as a technical study in North Carolina to test the texture of new backdrops we painted together.
What was meant as a mechanical evaluation of light and space evolved into a documentary observation of our own connection. My work frequently sits at the intersection of my degrees in psychology and art, focusing on the structural integrity of human proximity. After more than a decade in the creative industry, I find the most rewarding projects are often the ones that take an unplanned emotional turn. I have intentionally kept his face obscured to preserve the most private parts of our relationship for myself.
Do y'all know what it's like to be in a creative rut? I've been there past few months despite so much life going on. I decided to start editing long forgotten shoots to see what new editing techniques I can teach myself.
Pushing yourself to try new things while stepping away from current work really helps get the creative juices flowing. Less pressure means more fun🤗

I’m usually here for the people, but today the air felt different. I liked how this building looked in the fog, like the weight of the world is just waiting for a reason to come crashing down. Sometimes the scenery matches the headspace. Thankfully even hard days can lead to the creation of beauty.

Moments that caught my eye. Snow falling. Small indulgences worth noticing.
Life lately.

I’m thrilled to announce a new chapter: Gabe Gomez Creative. What started in a Columbia University dorm has grown into a multi-state production business. As my work takes me further—splitting my time between the energy of NYC and the soul of North Carolina (where my partner and heart are)—it was time for the brand to catch up to the reality.
GGC is a “One-Man Glam Army” specializing in photography, video, makeup, and commercial retouching. Whether I’m on set in Manhattan or post-processing in NC, the mission remains the same: making you feel seen.
A massive website refresh is dropping soon. Thank you for riding with me for over a decade. We’re just getting started.

Happy 2026! ✨ As we welcome this new year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the incredible opportunities and the amazing people who made 2025 so special. I also want to apologize for being absent on here for a while. Over the past six months, I faced some significant physical health challenges and needed to step back from social media. I’m truly sorry for not opening and getting to my messages and texts, you haven't been ghosted. I appreciate your patience and understanding as I work on reaching back out.
Now that I’m doing better, I’m excited to share more of my photography and creative journey with you all. Your support means the world to me, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting and being more present in 2026.
Thank you all for being part of this journey, for your understanding, and for the love you’ve shown. Here’s to a year of growth, creativity, and meaningful connections!
First shoot with Laydon in the studio and I think I have found a new Muse. Been forever since I felt so connected to someone during a shoot. Was quite surprised at Laydon being so vulnerable in front of the camera despite his usual shyness. Many more photos and shoots with Laydon to come.

north of noise. I wanted to share a little bit of my cinematography and drone work since it rarely sees the light of day. This is from a trip in upstate NY in January. Shot on a DJI Mini 4 Pro and color graded using Davinci and Cineprint35. Music of course from one of my favorite movies, Cloud Atlas.

Had to drive 6 hours to buy a desk that matches my bedroom set from the 70s. Decided to take back roads the whole way, stopping to take pictures of small town, rural America. So many gems and beautiful old houses along the way. Even ended up making friends with a man whose bike broke down in a town I was photographing in and he let me take his photo. This set is a small reminder to slow down and take in the world around you. Being grateful for life is all about perspective, beauty is everywhere to be found.
