One year ago, {Le Code d’Orsay} made history as the first-ever exhibition by a « digital artist » in one of the world’s most visited museums ❤️
To commemorate this premiere, we are thrilled to present a short documentary filmed by Cedric Corroy, offering an immersive look into the full exhibition 🧬
DOM2, 2024
@leander.herzog + @milianmori
Web-based audio-visual realtime animation
DOM2 explores ratios, rhythm and repetition as compositional methods. The title refers to the Document Object Model, the main material of contemporary interfaces and digital infrastructure. An infinite document is composed from basic HTML elements and animated by generative audio. It is a realtime interaction of two programs: Visuals by Leander Herzog and audio by Milian Mori. Their collaboration started in 2021 and led to DOM1, published 2023 on fxhash with and HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Basel.
DOM2 is an ongoing search for style by shaping random number distributions with curated sets of specific values. It is a continuation of previous work like DOM1, Heatsink, Agglo and Imi. The composition emerges from the technical context: Width of the viewport, font-size and content. DOM2 uses the layout engine of the browser, which offers not only text wrapping, but also two dimensional layouts in grids. Its repetition and ratios evolve over time, in a space that is dynamic and vertically unlimited.

Wildly abstract, razor refined line-work.
Compartments lock into an unreadable map.
Ink blocks meet open space, resolving into tiny machine glyphs.
Collected works from @studioyorktown ’s Theoretical Civilization.
It began with a window view. Years ago in Tokyo, looking out from the Parco building toward the dense glow of Shibuya, Bruce felt a spontaneous pull to “generate a city” through code. That spark lingered, carried through earlier projects like Scenes from a Train Window and Tecton Optima, even before he had any clear sense of how to build such a system. The idea simply stayed with him.

Excited to formally announce that Entangled is a finalist for this years @lumen_prize in the Hybrid (digital/physical) category.
Entangled is a cross-chain, generative art project consisting of 512 unique particle simulations distributed across two blockchains, each programmed to interact with counterparts on the opposite network in real time.
Beyond its pure online presence, Entangled has been translated into a large scale, kinetic sculpture. While the original work connects collectors across digital networks, its physical manifestation subverts industrial grade technology to bring audiences together in a shared space.
I’m excited to learn that this years award ceremony will be hosted at @kunstsilo in Kristiansand, Norway. I hope to se as many as possible of you there.
Vertex Corrections, my first step with the new @fxhash generative art platform. Launching tomorrow 19.Aug at 6PM.CET 12PM.EST. First of many upcoming projects.
Pheno drop today on @fxhash 🌿
Swipe to see some outputs 🖼️
Pheno is a living plant, a quiet soul in the vegetative realm of the FSM series.
It takes root at a single X/Y/Z coordinate in a boundless Cartesian garden, its reach stretching from −128 to 128 on every axis. Many Phenoi may share the same patch of space, their roots intertwined in unseen layers.
With each new generation, a Pheno inherits whispers of its ancestry-shapes, colors, and patterns passed down like genetic memory. As it matures, it unfurls fresh branches, delicate leaves, and strange glyphs born from its own secret alphabet. Half of all Phenoi are wanderers, drifting through space and gathering new hues for their palettes; the others stand steadfast, rooted in place for all time.
