it's taken me a while to post about this because it's taken me a while to process how massive and transformative this experience was. 6 months ago, i took a production job because i was hungry for an in - i just wanted any excuse to be on a set, and i was determined to make that happen.
and to say i exceeded expectations is an understatement because even i didn't think i had this in me - but i did, and then some. from scouting and sourcing, to contracting and chasing, to building and furnishing, to feeding and sheltering, and THEN SOME - i managed the p*cci out of this location/basecamp of over 150 very different, very hangry people and their many many machines, in an environment that tested every single limit (+ the freezing desert didn't help).
one of the most valuable lessons i learned from this experience is what it means to have the right people by your side to help you put out all the fires and survive to tell the tale.
thank you to my sisters,
@aminaabdelhalim for believing in me more than i did, and for always championing my voice,
@ayaelsharkaoui for inspiring me to listen to what my heart needs and chase my dreams, and
@manaraibrahim for always being there for me, even when it's difficult. and thank you to my parents for supporting me taking jobs that pay nothing but mean everything to me.
