with Júlia Nueno Guitart, researcher and engineer with Forensic Architecture.
Júlia is dedicated to forensic investigation that centres civilians. She works with machine learning and data analysis, developing new methodologies to triangulate immaterial and material witness fragments in opaque conflict zones. Since October 2023, FA and Júlia have been focused on forensic investigations into Israel’s conduct in Gaza, tracking live the cartography of genocide and weaponisation of aid.
We talk about Forensic Architecture’s pioneering work, the significance of AI in warfare and its narratives, and evidence in the post-truth condition.
Another very special episode in collaboration with the Future of Demonstration: HOTHOUSE, a renegade lab for democracy against technocapitalist authoritarianism.

I talked with the founders, artist Sylvia Eckermann and artist & theorist Gerald Nestler, about their festival series and its framing, post-disciplinarity, willful volatility and the necessity of being and doing together, before delving deeper into their backgrounds with gameworlds and financial trading.
