“While it would be nice to be able to pivot away from fast fashion, not everyone can afford luxury, slow fashion labels. I’d like to pursue a career specifically in the supply chain, working alongside fast fashion labels to identify areas where we can adopt better practices without sacrificing cost. Making better choices overall is far more impactful than just doing nothing.” In the latest installment of Future Folklore, Featuring: artist @jbaugart shares how she is working towards moving into her dream industry of fashion and sustainability. In her interview, she covers what she’s learned about moving between different industries, the stories the fashion industry tells itself that she wants to challenge, and how being an artist influences how she thinks about sustainability work. We’ve been told many different stories about what our career “should” be, and what “success” looks like. In the latest edition of Future Folklore’s interview series, writer and future coach Priscilla Zorrilla (@inthesearchbar ) shares from the heart about her experience standing at a crossroads when the pull for something more aligned and purposeful could no longer be ignored. She shares about her decision to walk away from the corporate world and take a bet building a live doing work that she loves, writing her first book, and how she hopes her work can open up possibilities for others. Introducing Future Folklore, Featuring: A conversation series that explores the intersection of imagination, culture, and regenerative practice through the voices of artists, organizers, dreamers, and stewards who are actively composting the old world while tending the new. Each interview will be an invitation to witness how personal mythology meets collective transformation, how creativity becomes cultural infrastructure, and how the stories we tell today will become tomorrow’s folklore. Our first feature is @pablo.giori , Co-Director of @experimentalphotofestival , the International Photography Festival Association @photographyfestivals and Agora, School of Experimentation. “What we want to carry forward instead is the idea of photography as a space for experimentation, where the process, the mistakes, and the discoveries are as important as the final outcome.” Read the full interview at the link in bio 🌿 Photos provided by @solaguren @grisphoto dtimage

We’re now accepting nominations for Future Folklore Voices – someone whose work, care, or creativity deserves to be seen and celebrated and documented. Maybe they’re… 🌿 Nurturing community or creating new traditions 🌿 Using art to shift narratives or spark conversation 🌿 Helping others process change and imagine new possibilities 🌿 Working to transform old systems into more regenerative ones 🌿 Tending to overlooked or forgotten histories 🌿 Weaving stories, care, or creativity into a more beautiful future These nominations will help seed the first season of this archive, which will feature written interviews on our Website/Substack and social media, and ensure that the stories we carry forward reflect a shift toward regeneration, liberation, and collective healing. Nominate someone (or yourself!) at the link in bio 💚
