Final release of tickets for “The Ego” headlining tomorrow night at the Future Flares Festival 2026.
The Ego is a bold and humorous theatre performance by Anemone Valcke and Verona Verbakel (The Sirens by Ontroerend Goed). They explore how transgressive behaviour, internalised misogyny and #MeToo shape their lives. With two chairs, a screen and sharp wit, they share real stories with shameless honesty. Blending dry humour and tragically comic film clips, the show is both confronting and entertaining.
Without blaming victims or pointing fingers at perpetrators, The Ego humorously exposes the dysfunctional system behind such behaviour, inviting the audience to reflect on power, complicity and credibility.

Exit Music (work-in-progress) / Pinchbeck and Smith / Friday 23 January 2026 / 12.30pm-1pm / 1.30pm-2pm
There’s no alarm and no surprises. It’s just us. And them. And this. And now. Breathe, keep breathing. Don't lose your nerve. I can't do this alone.
Pinchbeck & Smith have been here before. They’re in the dressing room, anxious about what happens next. They’re talking. They’re not talking. They’re OK-NOT-OK. These long-time collaborators turn their bond over Radiohead into a story that jumps like a needle between 1997 and now, orbiting the connected histories of OK Computer and the Mir Space Station. Exit Music explores male friendship as the two performers collide sci-fi with vinyl, archival research and acoustic guitar, to make a melancholy montage that hopes for a better future while reliving a haunted past. Today, Pinchbeck & Smith escape, as they support one another through fears about ageing, loss, alien abduction and stage fright – with a 5% chance of catastrophic failure.
Supported by Performance Research Group, Future Flares Festival, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Lincoln. Part of The Vinyl Trilogy, exploring music, male friendship and mental health, devised, directed and performed by @k.s.egan , @ollie.d.smith & @mdpinchbeck .
Presented as part the 2026 Future Flares Festival @futureflaresfest@mcrschart . Link in bio.
