The final artist on our roster is Saskia James! @saskiajames.design 🍊 "My work is deep routed in storytelling. Finding narratives is key in my visual communication. Whether it's communicating a current social issue or branding porridge, everything has a story to tell. I try and look for small details that may not be obvious but ground the work in its context and narrative. Mixed media is a key part of my design. I love using raw materials and trying out new methods to give my work more personality and individualism." Saskia work will be up at the show and if you have any questions, drop her a message over at @saskiajames.design

Our next artist is Emily Markwick! @design.munki 🍊 “My design practice draws on both analogue and digital processes, using elements of both to create mixed media works and visual images. I enjoy creating something physically and manipulating it digitally, building layers into it. My approach has its origins in branding, identity, music, photography and art. Recently I’ve become fascinated by how interaction and tactility can influence how design is experienced, especially in the music industry. I want to create work that heightens people’s experience and connects with them deeply as individuals.” Emily's work will be up at the show next week. If you have any questions, drop her a message!

Up next, Maren Landsnes! @designmaren "Maren a naturally curious and artistically minded multi-disciplinary designer from Norway, currently based in the UK. Her design practice is rooted in community, conversation, and collaboration. She has explored experimental typesetting, surrealism, and authorship through her MA in Graphic Design, creating ‘the only book on the market on Facebook Marketplace’, a publication for Revisit, a bi-monthly collection of essays that explore art from our formative years, and various zines." Marens work will be on display at the show. If you have any questions drop her a message at @designmaren 🍊

Featuring Aimée Clark @aimeecbc ! “A multidisciplinary designer and illustrator, influenced by social issues, culture and contemporary art. My practice explores how design can be utilized in society and modern life, using it to uplift, motivate and communicate change. Using various influences in my body of work, especially issues close to me such including intersectional feminism, LGBTQ+ rights and modern art. I like to work in a variety of mediums, both analogue and digital, notably through a more illustrative perspective. My practice has explored using traditional graphic design aspects, such as typography and branding, but probing it’s key visual aspects to create something completely new.” Youll be able to see Aimée's work at the show, or over on @aimeecbc If you have ant questions, drop her a message!

Introducing Zoe Ellen! @zoellenstudio "I aim to find creative ways to evoke a sense of empathy through design and encourage people connect with data and information on a more emotional level, as well as making that information more accessible to a wider audience. There is a widespread perception that West Virginia is a wasteland, home to the poor and uneducated. This narrative misrepresents the diversity and complexity of the people who live there. Almost Heaven is a book of imagery and text that interweaves evocative imagery and concrete information about West Virginia in an attempt to overturn the warped narrative about the state." Zoe's work will be up at the show, if you have any questions, drop her a message 🍊

Throughout the past year we have been building up a fantastic body of work, and are super excited to have the opportunity to share it with you all! However, in order to make this happen, we have to ensure we have the resources to fund the venue, promote the project and loads of other exciting stuff... In order to do this we are asking for your support. Any amount would be greatly appreciated! Either through direct backing, or through the purchasing of any of our t-shirts, tote bags or prints (link in bio). Items will he sent out from the 5th August. Many thanks :) Fuse

Up next, James Farrant @jpf__photo 🍊 !! “My design practice has evolved in tangent with my photographic and written work, providing me with a wealth of ideas and imagery to explore and develop. Through this year I have been exploring narratives built from ideas around futurism, starting with the idea that ‘”the future is now”. Utilising past ideas of what the future might be, in order to explore present dynamics. For one I have considered the city, exploring the spaces people inhabit and how these spaces define and respond to the lives of their inhabitants, creating the narratives and stories that people embody. Much of my work this year has involved constructing these ideas into a visual language, utilising experimental image making and design to communicate these stories and ideas.” James’ work will be on show at the exhibition if you have any questions about his work, drop him a message!
