3 years ago today i met the most wonderful human I’ve ever had the pleasure of loving in wichita kansas. they drove so many hours from denver to come see me, we instantly clicked the way we had been online the few weeks prior, and the rest is history 💕 they’re the smartest, most beautiful, hilarious, tender, sweet person, and i’m so lucky to have had my life changed in the most meaningful and lovely way 3 years ago :’) i love you ash!!

My band @thefeverhaze put out our record “Moonbow” today!! I wrote this record in the summer of 2022, while on tour, and the first few songs started out being about my gender journey and the ways that life expands in such beautiful ways when you’re allowed to be yourself. In a similar way, when you meet someone who truly loves you, who understands and comforts you and holds you closely in their heart, it also expands the world around you. I met Ash around the time I started writing for this record, and after writing the initial concepts about the world opening up from being yourself, I started to fall in love with them. My heart was bursting. I can remember writing at least two songs a day to just send the demos to Ash and show them from afar (when we didn’t live together yet!! 🥲) and hope to convey my feelings in a way beyond words. I wrote a ton of these songs about falling in love with Ash and how sometimes you just know. I don’t think I’d have been able to share such a wonderful life with someone had I not been able to finally be myself. Ash is both someone who I met at the right time and someone that always helps me realize who I truly am. This record is theirs. I can’t say almost any of it would have been written had I not met them. This record is a journey to joy from finding love within yourself and then going on to find the love you deserve from another. Thank you for listening to it :’) I’m not sorry to gush. Just wanted to tell the story behind these songs and profess my love for them and for the world I now get to occupy as myself. 💕
