When I was moving to Chester, I had no one. I knew nothing about Chester. I checked all of the hashtags to find any black person, just any Nigerian who has used the geotag or hashtag that I could send a message to. There was no one. I eventually found a lady on my IG that I Dm-d but I could tell she was a bit wary cos I was asking so many questions that she was probably not comfortable with. I knew right there and then that I would solve this issue. Anyone who searches for the university of Chester must find me easily on social media and Iām going to help them

I have never been this stressed and anxious for nothing in a while. Moving tested my capacity. It is one thing to move in a place you are rooted in, itās another thing to move in the UK. In Nigeria, you know someone that knows someone that can help. You have friends and families at your beck and call. This time, I had to figure things out by myself. It didnāt help that my room was on the second floor, so carrying big boxes down the stairs by myself was a lot. I canāt count how many times I said: GOD HELP ME!
I also had the worst experience with āAnyVanā but thanks to Chesterās local cab @kingkabs_343434 they came through. The driver assigned to me was very kind and welcoming. I was panicking, in fact I prayed for the driver ahead, asked God to send me someone who is kind and willing to help. Anyway, all of this is a story now, Iām so proud of myself

I have decided to celebrate every single milestone regardless of how small they might be. I canāt even imagine being productive in my former room as a student. I also canāt imagine sharing bathroom and toilet with 4 grown adults. Itās crazy cos moving from a 2 bedroom apartment in Nigeria with 2 fully functional bathroom and toilet to the ghettoš¤¦š¾āāļø
My relationship with God and accommodation is on a 100. God literally blows my mind everytime I tell him Iāve outgrown an apartment. I feel like if I ask for a mansion he will give meš. God Iām grateful š¤

If you are planning to study abroad soon, Iām willing to help. I remember being confused on how to go about things at the initial stage, what school do I want to go to? Canada or UK? What course should I study? Go back to Law, digital marketing or should I do something around gender empowerment and social impact? In hindsight I should have been better prepared for my travel but the reality is, I just was tired and wanted to change environment.
