‘ESCHAR’ RESPONDS TO A BODY’S DRAFT - REACTING TO ROUTINE AND MOVEMENT. THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN THE TEXTILE AND THE SUEDE SHELF IS EMPHASIZED BY SCULPTED LACERATIONS. ‘ESCHAR’ WAS DESIGNED ALONGSIDE INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ARTIST BRYCE FULLER AS PART OF AN ONGOING COLLABORATION BETWEEN DIGITAL MODELING AND RELIEF PRINTING ON TEXTILES.

A CONTINUATION OF ‘BASAL’, ‘PIKO’ HOLDS ONE FLOWER THAT CUTS THROUGH A SINGULAR LAYER OF PRINTED SCREEN. ‘PIKO’ IS AN INSTALLMENT OF AN ONGOING COLLABORATION WITH INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ARTIST BRYCE FULLER, IN WHICH BOTANY IS BOTH DECORATION AND SPECIMEN, GRAFTING THE NATURAL WORLD WITH THE ARMAMENTARIUM OF SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS.

IN COLLABORATION WITH INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ARTIST BRYCE FULLER, THE ‘BASAL’ VASE PLACES BOTANY ALONGSIDE THE BODY. INSPIRED BY SLICE PLASTINATION AND GEOGRAPHIC TOPOLOGY, ‘BASAL’ IS COMPOSED OF THREE TIERS OF 3D PRINTED ELEVATIONS SLICED WITH DYED NYLON SCREEN. DESIGNING VESSELS FOR FLORALS IN ‘THE ARMAMENTARIUM VOLUME’ IS AN ODE TO HONORING THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED IN THE ONGOING AIDS EPIDEMIC.

Airplane Sculpting Speed-run…
Today I got to make (and paint) some Anemones!

March is here, and the Anemones are soon to bloom! I had the perfect two connecting flights to throw down two variations on this beautiful flower. I have a floral tutorial for beginners coming within the next week on my Youtube to stay tuned over there and get subscribed, you don’t wanna miss it! I will also be covering a simple painting breakdown too, so it is gonna be a good one ;)

Collaborative Material Experiments

We got to spend some time this week putting our heads together on some new material formats for future projects… Partially for Drew’s home furnishing and decor, partially for Bryce’s floral vessels and sculpting practice.
I think we have both been dying for the chance to fully collaborate on a project for quite some time, so this was an exciting chance for us to put our skills together to start making some really fun samples.

Material Experiment in Blender, Sculpted in Nomad Sculpt.

I have been trying to figure out how to make this material in blender for a while and finally got it to work! And I am super glad it happened at the same time I finished this sculpt I sketched out months ago… many things finally coming together. This is my first time simulating fur in blender and I had a blast :0 and am excited to do another project with that as well.

This month marks ONE YEAR that I have been dedicated to learning blender. And all the projects coming out this month make me super proud of my progress.
I also have been working hard at getting my Nomad Sculpt game upgraded, and have more tutorials being posted every week on YouTube if you are interested.
