FULL LINK is joining the UKGATHERING this friday 7th of november in BIRD Rotterdam. A true student of UK Garage. We did a small interview with him, about his favorite tracks, where his love for UKG started and what to expect of UKGathering. 1. How did your love for UKG start?
I fell in love with the album Condition by Salute in 2019, so I started following him on Instagram. I think at one point he shared a speed garage track on his story, so I checked it out. Immediately I was blown away by the sound, so I started to dig deeper into the genre and just fell in love with everything that is UKG.
2. What’s your core memory from a UKG rave — as a DJ and/or as a raver?
Seeing DJ EZ at The Warehouse Project in Rotterdam. I think it was the first time I didn’t really dance the whole set, because I was just observing the madness that was going down in the DJ booth. Killer DJ!
3. When and where did you first hear UKG, and how did it make you feel?
My first introduction to UKG was through a speed garage song that Salute shared on his Instagram story a couple years ago. I’m not sure which song it was anymore, but I just know hearing a proper speed garage track for the first time just blew my head off. I’m sure anyone can relate to be honest.
4. Which tracks are must-haves for a UKG rave?
I’ll give you two. First off: Y-Tribe - Righteousness (Original Vox Mix), super smooth 2-step track to start your rave off right. Second: Chris K – Snatch. Absolutely bonkers speed garage track, to shut it down.
5. Which DJ inspired you the most when you first got into UKG?
Seems like the obvious answer, but I gotta say Interplanetary Criminal. When I heard those early ATW EP’s something just clicked. The way he and Main Phase combined raw and dark 2-steppers, together with dreamy organ/speed-garage tracks was something I had never heard before. It’s so cool to see where he is taking things now. So definitely a big inspiration still.

Now with fall/winter approaching it’s time for lock-in season. Already got some fun club shows lined up, so keep your eyes peeled for that. 👀

Little recap from last weekend!
I had a blast opening the garage stage last saturday. I had so much fun playing some of my favorite tunes on such a big soundsystem! The floor was shaking and my heart was pumping from start to finish.
Massive shout out to @ploegendienst for the opportunity to play alongside some of my favorite artists.

2024 is coming to an end and I’m looking back on an amazing year, in which I got to play a lot of fun shows. Besides that I hosted two @getagrip.events in @clubsmederij toghether with @caspertenbrink_ and @b8dhi . They honestly turned out better than we could have dreamed of and we’re super excited to see what 2025 brings for us!
To wrap things up, I decided to cook up a little mix. I’ve put toghether a selection of my favorite releases of 2024. Kicking things off with some no-nonsene UKG, followed by some more clubby stuff and pretty much only snipers and hamers torwards the end. The mix is up on my Soundcloud, but to keep things tangible in these digital times I’ve also put this mix on CD and I’m handing them out for free to anyone who’s interested. So if you wanna blow up your car’s speakers, shoot me a DM and I will send a copy to you.
