A few select favorites from Frieze ( @friezeofficial ) and Butter ( @butterartfair ) LA last weekend. The rooms were filled with vibrant artists, enthusiasts, and fresh faces eager to see works new and old under the west coast sun. One thing is certain, they did not disappoint and left us all a little more inspired.

Eric Mack’s current show “Fishers of Men” is on view at the American Academy of Arts and Letters @artsandlettersnyc until February 8th.
•
We visited Eric in his studio and caught a glimpse of the beauty in his process. At the time of our visit, he was speaking to us about upcoming showings and developments within his practice that continue to grow in many directions.
Amongst the photos taken by @kusumadjaja is a piece of fabric later rendered in his current work on view now.
•
Eric Mack’s @ernatmack interview with Whitney Mallett @whitneymallett is featured in our first volume of Full Circle
Anthony Akinbola @heyitsbunmi graces the cover of Full Circle Vol. 1 with a cover story highlighting his relationship with film, forms of communication, solitude, and his art practice. We visited Anthony at his private residence and studio to gain insight into the vibrant creative’s approach to world building. What we discovered was far more enriching than we could ask for, embracing a life of cultural freedom and voyeuristic philosophy that materializes into the work we see and love.
•
Learn more about Anthony in our first Volume of Full Circle and see Anthony’s current show CAMOUFLAGE on view at Sean Kelly Gallery.

To look at a Dean Majd @deanmajd Photograph is to feel as though you’ve lived it yourself. His story is still unfolding but it is already clear we are witnessing an oeuvre that will endure. There is a clear reason why Dean Majd - A Queens based Palestinian-American photographer - is such a sought after artist: his unwavering love for his subjects. A photo by Dean becomes the definitive image of whoever stands before his lens, whether a generational politician, musical superstar, or local hero.
His portraits radiate permanence, as if they are both the first and last photograph ever taken of that person. In his gaze, subjects are not just captured but fixed in time, eternally remembered’

HEAVEN & EARTH Diptych by Emmett Palaimas @hammerhead_audio
•
Emmett is a contemporary artist interested in merging sound and experience through his practice. This piece uses the low vibrations of sub woofers as a motif symbolizing the grounded nature of earth. High frequency vibrations are contrarily projected onto the user from above symbolizing heaven. The intersection of these sounds creates an experience so unique that words can’t describe
